Continuity mistake: When Christian orders the return of the bounty, a musket appears in his left hand between shots.
Factual error: In reality, Captain Bligh was never on board the HMS Pandora, and he was not present at the trial of the mutineers who stayed on Tahiti. At the time he was halfway around the world on a second voyage looking for breadfruit plants.
Trivia: The last film to date to win the Academy Award for Best Picture and no other Oscars.
Trivia: The only film to receive three nominations for the Best Actor Academy Award.
