Audio problem: When Noah and Martha exit the "dream house", Allie's head does not move (she looks down all the time), nor do her lips move while she pronounces parting words to Martha.
Revealing mistake: When Noah and Allie meet outside the movie theatre and later dance in the intersection of the streets, the viewer can see their breath. It is very cold outside and Noah is wearing a heavy jacket. Summer in South Carolina is oppressively hot, even at night. (00:17:00)
Other mistake: In one of the beginning scenes, when Noah and Fin are at the fair, you see Allie and Sarah on the bumper cars. Allie bumps into Sarah, and you can see and hear Sarah yell "Rachel," which is actually the name of the actress who plays Allie - Rachel McAdams. (00:05:20)
Trivia: When Noah is driving back to Allie's house after Finn tells him she's left, Noah's car bangs into the fence. This wasn't supposed to happen; it was a mistake made by the actor (Ryan Gosling).
Noah: My Dearest Allie. I couldn't sleep last night because I know that it's over between us. I'm not bitter any more, because I know that what we had was real. And if in some distant place in the future we see each other in our new lives, I'll smile at you with joy and remember how we spent the summer beneath the trees, learning from each other and growing in love. The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds, and that's what you've given me. That's what I hope to give to you forever. I love you. I'll be seeing you. Noah.
Noah: I'm not usually like this, I'm sorry.
Allie: Oh yes you are.
Noah: I could be fun, if you want. I could be pensive, uhh... Smart, supersticious, brave? And I, uhh, I can be light on my feet. I could be whatever you want. You just tell me what you want, and I'm gonna be that for you.
Allie: ...You're dumb.
Noah: I could be that.
Noah: Come on, one date, what's it gonna hurt?
Allie: Mmm, I don't think so.
Noah: Well what can I do to change your mind?
Question: Is this true that Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams strongly disliked each other when working on this movie?
Answer: It's true. According to director, Nick Cassavetes, the two actors did not get along at all and constantly bickered during filming. Things were so bad that during one scene, Gosling wanted Cassavetes to have another actress read McAdams lines off-screen. Gosling and McAdams later overcame their animosity and dated, though their relationship ended after two years.
