Factual error: After mounting armor in the bus they are approaching Phoenix on a two lane highway from the northwest. When entering the city they are shown coming around South Mountain on Interstate 10 from Tucson from the south.
The Gauntlet (1977)
Directed by: Clint Eastwood
Starring: Clint Eastwood, Pat Hingle, Sondra Locke, William Prince
Continuity mistake: The tyres on the bus don't blow until the firing has stopped and the bus comes to a stop.
Audio problem: After the bus crashes to a halt on the courthouse steps, the gunfire stops. A few seconds later, a bullet hole opens up on the side of the bus - but there is no sound.
Trivia: More than 8,000 rounds were used for the climactic shoot-out scene.
Trivia: One of the passengers seen getting off the hijacked bus is the same actor who drove the ambulance and got blown up in the rental car (blue '74 Plymouth).
Trivia: Before Clint Eastwood and Sondra Locke, Steve McQueen and Barbra Streisand were cast as Ben and Gus, but the two of them didn't get on during filming. Eastwood took over the production after McQueen backed out.
Ben Shockley: How's our Assistant D.A. these days?
Josephson: Shit! He couldn't convict Hitler.
Biker: Hey, that's our bikes Charlie.
Ben Shockley: And this is my gun Clyde.
Constable: Them fellers up there are gonna wonder why you bailed out. And I'm gonna tell 'em. You chose sides. Got yourself a little nookie and chose sides.
