Trivia: In addition to many other nods to the original film, this remake also has several audio clips taken directly from the original film. One of the more noticeable instances of this is when Mia is first possessed, right after the door is thrown open by the force outside of the cabin (right before she vomits blood onto Olivia and is thrown into the basement). The lines "You will die, like the others before you! One by one we will take you!" can be heard in the background as Mia screams. This is taken directly from the original film, from the scene where Cheryl was possessed. In addition, when the main characters first arrive at the cabin, a low, demonic voice moaning "Join us" can be heard in the background. This is another audio clip taken from the original film.
Trivia: If you sit through the entire end credits there is a small additional scene showing Bruce Campbell turning towards the camera and saying his trademark phrase "Groovy" from Evil Dead II.
Trivia: The first letter of the first name of each of the 5 characters in the cabin spell the word DEMON.
Trivia: Eagle-eyed viewers may notice that when Mia picks up the necklace off the ground, right before it begins to rain blood at the end, as she reaches down, the string from the necklace is arranged to resemble a skull. This is a nod to the original film, in which the character of Ash grabs a necklace off the floor, with its chain similarly laid-out in a skull-like shape. (It also happens a second time in "Evil Dead II").
Trivia: The car that Mia is sitting on in the back of the cabin is an Oldsmobile Delta 88. Sam Raimi, director of the original Evil Dead, owned one (albeit a '73 model, this is '74) and put it in almost all of his movies, from The Evil Dead (1984) to Spider-Man (2002).
