Continuity mistake: At one point late in the movie, Arlene McKinney is at the kitchen sink. If you look through the window it is daylight out. She then goes outside and it is night.

The only thing that would've made this movie PERFECT, which it was nearly perfect, was if it had an alternate ending where the star didn't die.
Maybe still stabbed and he goes into a coma so the mass pouring out of people at the end still would be used and the part where the mother flips to the floor in the hospital still could be used but she's told he won't make it and to come in and say her goodbyes but then deep prayers at the ending seem to pull him through which is all paying it forward to the one that started pay it forward for a completed circle so to speak.
This annoyed me that there was no alternate ending.
Still absolutely loved the movie.

Arley: I want to wear the green dress.
Trevor McKenney: You look like a vampire in that.

Chosen answer: The one who stabbed him was not. The others were there because they did not mean for Trevor to get stabbed and killed so now they feel guilty. They were showing Arlene they were sorry.
They were sorry for killing him.
Only one of the bullies killed him. The others were bullying, but didn't think the other would kill him. However, they still had remorse and were showing that remorse to the mother.
The one who stabbed him was probably arrested offscreen.
