Corrected entry: When Charlie's mother is in the hospital, Charlie puts up crosses all over the walls and windows, supposedly to keep Jerry away. However, this was after the scene where Charlie held up a cross to Jerry on the roadway and Jerry grabbed the cross and it caught fire. So, Charlie would have known that the crosses had no detrimental effect on Jerry.

Starring: Colin Farrell, Toni Collette, Anton Yelchin, David Tennant
Factual error: Jerry digs up a natural gas pipeline in the backyard and jerks it so hard that a pipe coupling in Charlie's house breaks, venting natural gas into the house for about 4 seconds. Then Jerry uses a cigarette lighter to send a flame through the pipeline, exploding Charlie's house like a fire bomb, catching virtually every room in the house on fire. In reality, it would take an hour or more for vented natural gas to accumulate sufficiently to blow up a house, for one thing. For another thing, Jerry broke the gas pipeline in the backyard in order to ignite it; so, while the broken pipeline leading to Charlie's house had no gas pressure, the pressurized side of the pipeline was still in the backyard with Jerry. Meaning, Jerry himself should have been engulfed in fire as soon as he sparked a flame.
Peter Vincent: I'm a great date. Get me drunk, and I'll try anything.
Trivia: The driver that Jerry kills after the man's car hits Charley's car is portrayed by original Fright Night Actor Chris Sarandon. The ending credits have him listed as "Jay Dee", the initials for Chris Sarandon's character Jerry Dandridge.

Correction: They do have an effect on Jerry; he showed signs of physical pain when he touched the crucifix, and it only burst into flame because he was touching it. Also, that was only one crucifix, so it's likely that he would not be able to pass through tens of them.
