Other mistake: In the scene where Emily is throwing away all of Steve's stuff, she discards a disco ball, commenting, "Who decorates like this anyway?". But, later in the film, when Steve and Emily are in bed choosing college courses, there is a disco ball (like the one Emily discarded earlier) at the top of the bed. Wouldn't she have thrown that one away too?
Suggested correction: Emily wants to marry herself into the family quickly. It's possible that Steve insisted on keeping the disco ball and she decided to deal with it later, after the wedding.
Continuity mistake: When Steve and Doug are walking down the street to Staying Alive, they walk by Bright Idea and other stores over and over again.
Suggested correction: It certainly matches their personalities to simply walk around to look at women and try to get attention.
