Question: Did I hear correctly that Jacob says "Seth will spell me in the morning" when he's telling Edward and Bella that he's staying with them overnight at the campsite that Edward set up to hide out during the fight? If that is correct, I've never heard that expression before.
Question: If Bella is a "shield" and vampire powers can't affect her how did Jasper use his mood/mind control on her? It was Bella's birthday and they were at the school. Alice was inviting her to a party. After Bella says yes, she said "Jasper, no fair with the mind control thing."
Answer: Vampire abilities can't affect her mind. It's explained in the book that what Jasper does is physical. He loosens tense muscles and stimulates production of the appropriate hormones and helps the subject physically relax, thus stimulating a sympathetic mood change in his subjects.
Question: In the scene where the Cullens are filling Jacob and his friends in about the newborn vampire army, this is all taking place during Bella's graduation party. Why would they discuss it there where other people could hear them or notice them? In the book they discussed it later that night after the party.
Question: What exactly happens to Rosalie (before and after)?
Answer: Probably with the change of behavior she has with Bella. Rosallie seems to welcome Bella in the family as one of them and after the baby is born she is taken over by a mommy feeling.
Question: This question pertains to New Moon and Eclipse: When Billy is telling the story of the Quileutes and the "cold ones", he says the cold ones can only be destroyed completely by fire. We've seen James and Victoria be destroyed that way, but Laurent and Riley were killed by the wolves. Was fire not necessary in their deaths (there was no evidence that the female vampire in the story was further destroyed by fire) or is it really not the only way vampires can be destroyed completely (according to Stephaine Meyer at least)? It seems unlikely Jacob and the rest of the pack would have matches or lighters with their clothes every time they remembered not to phase with them on.
Question: How can Riley be missing for a year as well as be a 1 year old vampire if he was made and last seen in May 21 2010 (according to the flyer Charles has)? The opening of the movie, where Riley is attacked, make it seem as though it all "just happened." And with the timing of Bella's journey (she arrives in Forks in March, prom is in late May or early June (most proms are end of the school year), her birthday is in Sept, she begins her time with Jacob in Feb, Edward comes home in April (guessing), she graduates in June 2010. So James was killed in May (before prom). I get Victoria could have made Riley in May just after James was killed BUT then the "last seen" date on the flyer shouldn't be so recent. Did I miss something?
Chosen answer: The date on it is a mistake. Some claim he could've been seen after he officially went missing, so the mistake is not allowed on this site. However, the description of his "last seen" appearance is clearing the opening sequence, which would've happened a year prior to the current events. By the movie's timeline, Victoria would've created him in May 2009 after James was killed, and this is now a year later.
Question: Okay, so if all the male werewolves wear nothing but shorts so they have less clothes to destroy, how come Leah still wears a shirt? It just seems that as a werewolf, she wouldn't care about nudity any more then her packmates. And, yes, I am aware they couldn't show her naked for the PG-13 rating. I'm looking for the in-universe answer.
Chosen answer: How do you know that she or anyone else "wouldn't care." Leah is the lone female shape-shifter among the males, and most women would feel extremely uncomfortable baring their breasts in that situation. Her male counter-parts would likely feel just as exposed and uncomfortable if they went without shorts in front of a group of women. It's a matter of decorum. Also, is a PG-rated movie. Nudity in movies usually results in an "R" rating, which limits the audience and revenue.
Question: Why wasn't the vampire army made in a big city? Mad Magazine pointed this out, surely they'd be noticed making one in a small town?
Answer: It's a common expression. It means 'to take over'. So Seth will take over in protecting Bella in the morning for him.
