Continuity mistake: When Walter is watching the fire go through the electrical system in the walls of the kitchen, watch the blender. One shot shows thick, chunky, white/orange stuff flowing out over the edge of the counter. The very next shot shows the blender toppled, but very clean. There is no trace of the chunky stuff in the blender or on the counter.
The Money Pit (1986)
Plot summary
Directed by: Richard Benjamin
Starring: Tom Hanks, Shelley Long, Maureen Stapleton, Alexander Godunov
Tom Hanks and his woman, Shelly Long borrow the money from various sources to buy and rebuild a mansion that they want, but everything starts going wrong, as they start living there. The stairs collapses on Hanks, as well as the kitchen catches on fire after he turns on a light and the roasting turkey shoots out of the oven and into their bedroom, the closet collapses on Shelly Long, and the tub collapses through the floor just as Hanks pours water in the tub, and when the contractors show up, they end up temporarly destroying the mansion as their boss exclaim "their working animals". Eventually they start losing money in contractors, and suspicions of adultery make them doubt each others love.
Water Fielding: Do you know how hard it is to find a really good carpenter? Besides, I think he's got a brother who's a plumber.
Anna Crowley: Really? A brother who's a plumber?
Water Fielding: I think so.
Anna Crowley: Do you think I should sleep with him?
Water Fielding: Maybe just this once.
Question: Walter is discussing changing the name of Cheap Girls to Meryl Streep with a band member. When they say 'Meryl Streep,' their mouths are not in sync with the words. Do you know what the original name change was supposed to be, and why was it changed?
Answer: I have watched this several times. It looks to me like he is saying Meryl Streep but the audio is just out of sync with the man's lips. Plus when Hanks says it, it matches Meryl Streep on his lips.
Answer: It looks like Meryl Streep the first time he says it but not the second.
