Continuity mistake: Ash has his shotgun stolen from him by the mini-Ashes who use to shoot at him. Ash then runs outside (all the while splitting into his good and bad halves) leaving his gun inside the windmill. Moments later Ash now has his shotgun again so he can blast Evil Ash in the face. Army of Darkness (1992)
Ending / spoiler
Directed by: Sam Raimi
Starring: Bruce Campbell, Embeth Davidtz, Ian Abercrombie, Marcus Gilbert
Ash defeats the Evil Dead with the help of King Arthur, his tricked-out Chevy, and the chainsaw attached to his arm. He then is given a potion, which depending on the version you're watching, either sends him into the future, a blasted wasteland with no hope of escape, or back to the S-Mart, and one final encounter with the undead. Ash wins. In the director's cut of the film Ash is instructed to take 6 drops of a magic potion and he will awaken in his own time. He accidently takes to many drops and wakes up in London far into the future to find everything destroyed.
Ash: Don't touch that please, your primitive intellect wouldn't understand things with alloys and compositions and things with... Molecular structures.
Trivia: Ash's car has appeared in most of Sam Raimi's movies. Look out for it in Spider-Man and Darkman.

Answer: Towards the end of the film, when Ash mounts his horse and rides off into the sunset (before it then cuts to present day and he's back at the S-Mart), you can see his chainsaw is strapped to the horse's saddle. It seems that he either recovered it after the battle or perhaps he sent someone to the windmill to retrieve it.
