Factual error: Andy is interrogated by the detective after the latest rape, as evidence in this one points to him. Problem is, the cop mentions that all the victims had visited Andy's office before their attacks. In real life, with information like that, he would have been a suspect and subject to questioning from the very first incident.
Factual error: Dr Hill says he's a cardiothoracic surgeon, so what's he doing operating on a woman that needs a gynaecologist surgeon? When doctors specialise, that's it, they do not swap and move in other fields, the only time this would happen is in an absolute emergency, as in if there was only one doctor on duty. But that wasn't the case here.
Continuity mistake: Anne Bancroft empties her glass of whiskey, but without filling it up from the bottle there is whiskey in her glass, and then more.
Continuity mistake: When Andy goes to see Tracy's mother, she has her hand around the whiskey glass, but when he stands up, her hand is resting on the table, and when he turns back, the glass is in her hand again.
Answer: She was posing as the mother of the little boy who lived adjacent to Andy and Tracy.
