Dragonball Evolution
Dragonball Evolution mistake picture

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the sparring between Goku and his Grandpa, the clotheslines project clear shadows on the ground. During several shots during the silly fight (several from above when they flip around, or for instance the wide shot that follows the bug-eating bit) there's a total lack of shadows. Continuity mistake: After sparring and faceplanting into fruit, Goku follows Grandpa to his little zen garden. There was an establishing shot of the area by the training spot, shown once Gohan jumped on the ropes, and while the rocks and some gravel were visible, the little cement bed and greenery are brand new. (00:02:35 - 00:04:10)

Continuity mistake: Goku slides on the ground and gets a faceful of a mushy watermelon. When he stands, his shirt is dirty and with pulp all over, but his cheek and hair are clean and dry. (00:03:40)

Continuity mistake: When Goku calls Fuller's name for "whacking my bike", extras are recycled, appearing both behind Goku and the bullies (super-easy to spot a girl in pink and teal, with her buddy wearing a blue varsity jacket). (00:06:50)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Chi Chi sends a sad look back to the bullied Goku; you can see she is almost at the entrance, with other students turning the corner. In the following close-up of Goku, the cool kids (as much as people in the 27-32 range can be considered 'kids') have moved backwards and have still a way to go before entering. (00:07:30)

Continuity mistake: Mai walks into the ruined village. She points a gun at a harmless basket, weapon in her left hand. Change of angle, and she is now pointing the gun with her right arm before walking away. (00:09:05)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Mai takes the dragonball from the long-haired woman of the mid-aftercredits (Seki); when she comes out of the manhole, the leather pouch doesn't have its string hanging loose from the left, but it does when Mai comes closer. (00:09:50)

Continuity mistake: When Goku finds his Grandpa covered in rubble, he removes a wood plank; Gohan's hand is on top of the wood at first, then more logically it is under it. Also, when Goku brings him to the dry landscape, he's clean from the dust. (00:20:00)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Goku kneels by the grave of his Grandpa. His hand is on a stone, showing a white stripe between thumb and index. In the close-up, the stone is turned differently. (00:22:15)

Continuity mistake: When Goku asks Bulma "Did you kill my grandfather?" he's close enough to the doorframe to leave a shadow on it with his fist, unlike the previous shot. (00:23:46)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: After battling it out a bit, Goku asks Bulma "What happened to your dragonball?" The characters stand still but the shadows have dramatically moved; Bulma's face is fully lit and Goku 's shadow has moved. (00:24:55)

Continuity mistake: When Bulma and Goku have just finished fighting and begun talking; watch Bulmas' blue streak of hair. It's on the left side of her head throughout the conversation until goku says "you might need back up." The camera shows a close up of them shaking hands, and when it cuts back to Bulma, the blue streak is on the right side of her face. There is no indication of her moving it, and there's not enough wind to blow it to the other side. (00:26:25)

Continuity mistake: Bulma is browsing in search for Roshi, while Goku eats a massive piece of meat. Right at the first cut, the extras that were walking around have completely disappeared, and throughout the scene, cars in the background never carry over from the previous time they were in frame, they just vanish between shots. (00:27:10 - 00:27:45)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: In the close-up of her DBE in front of Roshi's house, Bulma is holding the device with both hands. She is browsing it with just the left hand in the wider shot. (00:28:00)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Bulma approaches Master Muten's home moving along the right side of the stairs in the faraway shot, but saunters along the left in the closer take. When it's time to enter, she opens the door, left hand close to her body and not popping out...but in the next shot, the hand holds the dragon radar and is placed on the external wall. (00:28:20)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Muten wakes up and he hits Goku, sending him against the wall. Some slips of paper begin falling from the desk, but the quick cut to Chow Yun-Fat's face stops that from happening, everything that was falling off is perfectly still. (00:29:30)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Master Muten Roshi sends Goku flying onto a table, breaking some white china. In the shot when Goku actually stands up, the shards are totally gone. (00:29:50)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: When Muten starts doing his silly posing saying his name, Emmy Rossum has in a close-up her wisp of hair comically looped across one eye. When she was seen earlier as the posing started, the hair was okay; it was messed up when she was getting up earlier. (00:30:36)

Continuity mistake: Chi Chi turns around after being hit by the guy she's practicing with; her ponytail flips side in the reverse shot. (00:36:00)

Factual error: Despite the film building to a climax during a total solar eclipse, which requires a New Moon, the film constantly shows a Full Moon, which never changes phase over the weeks the film takes place.

Goku: I'm not ready for this.
Master Roshi: You are the only one who can do it.

Trivia: The house used in the film as the one where the master lives, is the house in the news called the "nail house," where the owners refused an order to move because of construction. In the southwestern Chinese municipality of Chongqing, the modest two-story brick structure - a dot on the decimated landscape - is called the "nail house" because it seems to be nailed to the ground by its owners' stubbornness.
