Continuity mistake: In the scene where Bruce and Andy are hiding from Animal Control with the dogs, the two Animal Control people step on the "Bone Sweet Bone" pillow and leave a dirty footprint. When Friday goes to get it later, it is clean.
Continuity mistake: When Bruce checks one of the dogs, Henry, into the hotel, he writes the name into the ledger in green. When Bernie later reads the book, the name is written in red.
Visible crew/equipment: When the dog catcher is locked out from the outside and he is trying to get back in, you can see a crewmember with arms around his neck reflected on the black door.
Visible crew/equipment: When Carl and Lois are in the hotel and Carl finds his sound system, you can see a crew member reflected on the glass window of the door.
Continuity mistake: During the scene in the hotel, when the toy train is pulling out all the bowls for the dogs on the table, the train reaches the end and it hits a bell. The bowls are now in front of each dog relatively close to the edge of the table. The scene cuts to the kids at their table, in which they all touch glasses. Now when the scene cuts back to the dogs at the table, you can see that the bowls have disappeared. This happens approximately one hour into the film.
Visible crew/equipment: When the kids are running from the cops there are flashes that are supposed to imitate lightning. In one shot a strobe light creating the effect is blatantly visible when the camera pans up to the sky.
Continuity mistake: Towards the end of the movie when the van screeches to a halt just after all the dogs run off in the wrong direction, the outside shot shows the back door of the van is closed. The next shot from the inside of the van shows the back door to be still open.
Answer: Not until there's a 3 month period where the electricity usage is much higher than normal. Even then, it takes another few months to get it noticed, and another couple of months to send someone out to investigate it.
