Continuity mistake: When Waldman is telling his wife Alice how disgusting her dog is, the way he holds his spoon keeps changing between cuts.
Continuity mistake: When Sam Caine and the intruder fight over a shotgun and they both fall over, the shotgun disappears. A sound effect of the gun shooting is even inserted to cover up the fact that it just vanishes.
Visible crew/equipment: When Geena Davis is being dunked in water, you can see an air hose she is breathing out of in one shot. It is when the bad guy is talking, and you see her submerged.

Trivia: In an interview with GQ, Samuel L. Jackson said he was unable to secure an audition for this film because the studio told him the character was supposed to be white. He secured the part after running into Geena Davis and director Renny Harlin at a Christmas party. Jackson told Harlin that the studio wouldn't let him have the part, and Harlin cast him on the spot.
