Continuity mistake: When Bond is sitting in the chair and Kananga is checking to see if he deflowered Solitaire, the metal arm restraints only cover 1/2 of Bond's arms. (01:11:30 - 01:17:00)

Continuity mistake: Watch the way the bloke at the beginning is holding the snake. Every time the camera shows him from behind, he has one hand by its head, yet each time the angle changes to the front, his hand is halfway down the snake's body.

Continuity mistake: After Bond has finished ripping the wings off the Cessna and parks up, he speaks to the old female pilot, and in doing so, the camera shows that the wings behind her head are still intact, when they were already ripped off at this point.

Continuity mistake: When Bond is on the small isle in the crocodile pond, one of the crocodiles begins to climb the rock. Cut to Bond and then back at the crocodile who has now turned into an alligator. In the next shot it is once again a crocodile.

Continuity mistake: When Bond is tied up with Solitaire and turns on his watch - only the gas bullet comes flying. But that could not be the only loose metal object in the room. Kananga's blade for example. And even if he held on to it he would feel the magnet pulling it.

Jacob La Cour

Continuity mistake: When Bond and Kanaga falls into the shark pool, they fall apart from each other. However, when we see them from under water, they are holding onto each other.

Mortug

Continuity mistake: During the chase scene when several men in boats are chasing Bond in a boat, one of the bad guys steals a black speedboat from the Sheriff's brother-in-law. The bottom of the black speedboat collects white scuff marks as the chase continues, but the scuffs increase and decrease erratically, indicating that the sequences were not shot in the order we see in the film.

Continuity mistake: After Bond is picked up by the taxi at the airport in New York, Whisper in the "white pimpmobile", as Felix Leiter puts it, shoots the taxi driver in the head. The car then swerves from the second-left lane on the road to the very left lane. But in the next shot of Bond's head you can see through the rear window that there is a car on the left side of the taxi, indicating that the car is still in the second-left lane. In the next shot the taxi is back in the very left lane.

Continuity mistake: On the beach, when Bond shows the card to Rosie, the way he holds it differs between shots: his fingers stand out or not, depending on the shot.

Continuity mistake: The scene where Bond leaves the voodoo shop to tail the car. He hails a cab. As the cab draws up, we briefly see the cabbie in the front, who does not have long sideburns/mutton chops. However, shortly afterwards when the cabbie starts talking to Bond, and we see him more, it is a different actor (Arnold Williams), who has noticeably long sideburns. The driver has changed.

Continuity mistake: When Bond is secured to the chair just before Kananga reveals himself, Teehee has his claw hand at a 90 degree angle in the shot of them both from the side. The very next shot in front, focused more on Bond, has Teehee's arm down by his side.

The_Iceman

Continuity mistake: After Bond has killed the snake with the aerosol can in his hotel bathroom, he puts down the cigar he is smoking next to the sink. When he hears the door opening, he walks into the bedroom and the cigar is back in his mouth again.

Continuity mistake: When Bond and Solitaire are on the lift where they were put by Mr. Big, look carefully at Bond's watch. The face is concave with the crystal over it. When he uses the cutting function, the whole face is now rounded like a dome.

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: When the first British MI6 agent (Dawes) is killed by killer waves sent through his earphones at the United Nations, he has his fingers closed when the waves go through, but the next shot shows him with his fingers wide apart.

James Bond: I'm surprised they didn't spot you, too. There's a most remarkable girl back there with a deck of cards.
Harold Strutter: I saw those cards on the way up. Spades, James, every one. You were nailed the minute you left 74.

Trivia: Desmond Llewellyn, who played "Q", only failed to make an appearance in two of the first 19 Bond movies. He wasn't in "Dr. No" (Major Boothroyd is introduced, however, played by Peter Burton), and this film because of the stupid belief by the producers that Bond fans wanted fewer gadgets.

More trivia for Live and Let Die

Question: Bond kills Kananga at the end by placing the bullet with the air pellet in his mouth which causes him to inflate and explode. But Bond had the bullet in his own mouth before when he was concealing it. Why didn't it kill him?

Gavin Jackson

Chosen answer: Bond just stored the bullet in his own mouth to hide it. As he puts it in Kananga's mouth he presumably pulls a pin, or forces Kananga to bite it.

Soylent Purple

Answer: Bond knew to not bite down. Kananga had no such knowledge. He didn't realise what he was doing, or the effect that it would have on him; hence, boom.
