Continuity mistake: When Fletcher takes his son to the office, they step out the lift and a woman in a purple suit is seen walking to the left. In the next shot, the same woman is walking to the right. (00:06:25)

Suggested correction: That's a different woman with a different hairstyle. The second lady's hair is up over her ears and the first woman's suit is a darker purple.

DetectiveGadget85

I don't think there's enough detail in the wide shot to say it's a different woman or not. She's seems to be carrying the same clipboard in the same way. Plus, in the next shot, the first woman should still be seen somewhere in the wide shot off to the left, and she's not.

Bishop73

Again. In the wide the woman's hair is up. You can even see a pin in it. It's not in the first shot. Also, she would not necessarily need to be seen in the wide shot. The first shot has them in the elevator, then there's a hallway, before they cross the doorway into the lobby. She would have already walked past the desk (notice the lamp) by the time they were a few inches out of the elevator. By the time they walked to the doorway she could easily be out of frame.

DetectiveGadget85

Impossible. The very short distance she walks takes her almost 2 seconds, and then she's off camera for maybe a second. The distance to the hall to be out of the shot is almost twice the distance she was just seen walking.

Bishop73

Depth perception. She's walking directly in front of the desk. She's not in the same spot as the second lady (in front of the lobby door). She walks across the screen before Max's feet leaves the elevator. The distance between the left side of the desk and off screen is fairly short and plenty of time for her to cross before they exit the elevator. Third time...different hairstyle. I'm pretty sure the second lady is even wearing a different shirt underneath her jacket too.

Continuity mistake: Just before Greta hands Fletcher his son's birthday present, the cup and saucer on her desk disappears and re-appears between shots. Her glasses and the gift to herself also change position. (00:07:45)

Continuity mistake: During Max's birthday party near the beginning of the film, Audrey takes the cake out of the box and places it on the kitchen counter, and then puts birthday candles on the cake. In the next shot, the cake is sitting on a glass plate that wasn't there before. (00:17:10)

Continuity mistake: Just after Fletcher steals the yellow airfreshener from the car yard, he has his arms by his side. When the shot switches back to him, he has his arm on the counter. Considering that he was watching his car in such a shocked state, it's incredibly unlikely he would change to this position. (00:34:40)

Daz

Continuity mistake: In the impound lot scene when Fletcher is talking with his ex-wife next to her jeep the driver side window starts to open. It's closed for most of her close up, then switches back to open when she is getting in the car. (00:37:10 - 00:37:57)

Continuity mistake: When Greta is packing her belongings in a box, she grabs a glass ashtray from behind Fletcher. She puts it in the box, then decides not to pack it and lays it behind the box. When Fletcher says 'Greta, don't leave!' the ashtray is back in its original position. (00:44:10)

Continuity mistake: When Greta is packing her belongings away in a box, objects like rubber bands keep appearing in front of it, without her putting them there. The angle of the box changes as well. (00:44:15)

Continuity mistake: When Fletcher moves underneath the wing of the plane on his flight of stairs, another plane is seen in front of him. It disappears when the pilot sees the shoe land on the windscreen. There is also no sign of the barrier and luggage area that he crashes into a few seconds later. (01:14:50)

Daz

Continuity mistake: Just before Fletcher steers his flight of stairs under the wing of the plane, there is a shot taken from underneath the wing of the plane and you can tell by looking at the runway markings that the plane is suddenly barely moving, it appears to be moving about 5 miles per hour compared to about 30 miles per hour in previous shots. (01:14:50)

Daz

Audio problem: When Fletcher is on the stretcher talking to his wife and son, when the camera is behind him, his mouth is not in sync with what he's saying. (01:16:25)

Daz

Revealing mistake: When Fletcher is beating himself up he goes into a stall and squishes his head with a toilet seat. You can see that the white part underneath is made out of foam because it keeps squashing down.

Factual error: A minor only has a certain amount of time (typically, 6 months) to invalidate a contract entered into when such person was underage once that person turns 18 (or the age of emancipation in that state). This brings up a plot hole: If the marriage was not invalidated because Samantha Cole was underage, the prenuptial agreement would not be either, and Fletcher could not have used that argument to win the case, since he specifically states that she was seventeen at the time of her marriage.

Continuity mistake: When Fletcher is in his office and he's trying to write that the pen isn't blue, he swipes everything from his desk and there's then an overhead shot showing the only thing left on his desk is a small piece of white paper on the right hand side. A few seconds later the piece of paper has disappeared and has instead been replaced by the telephone line.

alargemango

Other mistake: When Fletcher is attempting to force himself to write the word "red" on his desk, in the shot before the "blue" is revealed, his pen is not even touching the desk and his final pen movement is a curve which doesn't correspond to an exclamation point.

Suggested correction: He had already finished writing "blue!" by the time we see the shot of him holding the pen off the desk. He was probably making the motion of writing "red" (with the curve you see corresponding to the "d") not realizing that the pen wasn't touching the desk, and not realizing that he had already finished writing "blue." Hence his initial gleeful reaction-he thinks he's successfully beat the spell, until he sees the writing and realises he hasn't.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Max is being driven to school, you can see that sometimes he has his seatbelt on, sometimes not.

PoPEyE

Audio problem: When Fletcher gives Max his birthday gift, the shot changes as Fletcher starts to say, "I hope it's not partially digested." When Fletcher's face comes into that shot, you can see that his lips aren't moving.

Revealing mistake: During the scene when Fletcher pummels himself in the courthouse restroom, the walls shake when he throws himself against them. The restroom walls were some type of marble or granite, and in real life would be very thick and rigid, making it very obvious this was a movie set.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Fletcher is driving the flight of stairs, and trying to catch up with the Tower Air jet, the sky changes from cloudy, to clear, to partly cloudy throughout the scene.

Driver: What's your problem, schmuck?
Fletcher: I'm an inconsiderate prick!

Question: After Fletcher gets his son to try to unwish the "No lying" wish, he tests to see if it works. He gets slapped in the face. When his son asks "Did it work?", Fletcher says, "Not as well as I had hoped." What did he mean by that?

Answer: As you said, he was testing to see if the wish was broken--by going up to an attractive woman and talking to her. While we don't hear what happens, he apparently said something a little too "forward" to her (probably more forward than he would have done otherwise, hence the "not as well as I had hoped"), and got slapped, so he knew that he was still under the wish's effects.

Chanteuse66

But I want to know what he said to the woman.

It's deliberately made unclear what he specifically said, because him getting slapped in the face is the gag that shows the audience that he's still under the spell. If we heard what he said, then we would know right away the new wish wouldn't have worked. It's ultimately up to the viewer's imagination to decide what he told the woman.
