Factual error: The plot takes place in 1860, but the summons to the Court of Enquiryour is in the name of William III, who died in 1702, and even William IV died in 1837. The correct monarch for 1860 would have been Victoria. (00:14:00)

Continuity mistake: In the opening scenes, the Red Witch has her lee rail almost awash, yet the view on deck and in the cabin following, the vessel is perfectly upright.
