When the first zombie attacks her, hit the pause/slow motion button on your DVD player: you will see a figure in a jacket and he has a bonnet covering his head. That person is Quentin Tarantino.
Trivia: When Tammy's car dies on the side of the road before she gets out of the car the radio says, "In loving memory of jungle Julia." This is a reference to the other half of the grindhouse double feature "Death Proof." Jungle Julia was one of the main characters in the first half of the movie.
