Meet the Robinsons

Question: Is the dog in glasses a reference to Mr. Peabody, or just a coincidence? I thought if it was, the commentary would mention it, but there was no mention of the gag at all.

Answer: There's no indication that the dog had anything to do with Mr Peabody (especially since the dog didn't speak or do anything other than sit there). It was just a front for a throwaway joke.

It's a coincidence because Mr. Peabody and Sherman was not released until 2014 and Meet the Robinsons came out in 2007.

But that film is based on the Peabody's Improbable History segment from the 50s/60s TV show The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends.

Question: Why would the pretty girl who plays with the trains be married to the obese, immobile Uncle Joey? Also, what is the joke when the old man says "That's Uncle Joey. He works out"?

Answer: Well you don't have to be 'good looking' to be married. Second it is just meant to be ironic when he says "That's Uncle Joey. He works out" because when you work out you're meant to be in good shape but obviously he isn't so it seems in the future working out is what we call now, a slob.

Question: Not saying I'm an expert on time travel, but when Goob and 'Doris' submit the Memory Scanner as their own, shouldn't Doris immediately vaporize much like she did when Lewis said he wouldn't invent her, seeing as Lewis is still theoretically in the future and wouldn't be present in the past to invent Doris?

Answer: No, because in that timeline Lewis would still eventually invent Doris. Doris would always be invented by Lewis at some point until he promises never to invent her.

Continuity mistake: During the scene where Lewis is first on the roof-top, and Mildred comes up to speak with him, the box he is sitting next to is plain wood on one side, and tallied on the other. When there is a close-up of Lewis' legs and the torn paper, when he's ripping the pages out of his book, the box has stencilled writing that is upside down. (00:06:25 - 00:18:30)

Bowler Hat Guy: Now, to lure him out of the house... I know! I'll blow it up! Yes! Yes, and... uh... no... no. That won't work. Then he'll be dead. Oh, I know! I'll turn him into a duck! Yes, it's so evil! Oh... I don't know how to do that... and I don't really need a duck... this may be harder than I thought.
