Continuity mistake: Just after Ding and Benjy have taken off in the plane, a sheriff helicopter is shown following them. In the wide shot, the man sitting on the right has both hands on his lap, but in the next shot, his left hand is suddenly holding a radio that is raised to his mouth. (01:16:45)

Revealing mistake: When the fireworks explode in the basement, there is a shot of Melville running up to and jumping over a counter to take cover. In the shot, we can see that he has been replaced with a stunt double. (01:38:30)

Casual Person

Revealing mistake: In the chase scene, Milton Berle and Terry Thomas are actually driving two different blue '61 Chevrolets. Initially, they are in a rare Super Sport as evidenced by the crossed flags emblem on the rear seat speaker cover. Fortunately, the car they eventually crashed was the less desireable non-SS version (i.e. no crossed flags emblem present). (01:40:05 - 01:47:25)

Revealing mistake: After getting out of the river, Meyer hitches a ride with a random driver who stops for him. There is a shot of the car beginning to drive off, and after they have driven off, a helicopter emerges from the field in the background to follow them. Just after the car exits the shot, and just before the helicopter emerges from the field, a visible edit can be seen onscreen revealing that these were two separate shots edited together. (01:45:45)

Casual Person

Revealing mistake: Whilst Sylvester is driving, there is a shot of Finch and Hawthorne driving past, followed by Sylvester shouting "Hey, Russell! Russell", then turning around to follow them. In the shot, we can see that a stuntman is shown driving the car and not the same actor. (01:50:35)

Casual Person

Revealing mistake: Sylvester is shown in his car chasing after Finch and Hawthorne in their rental car to try to get them to stop. There are about five shots during this sequence that show the two cars side-by-side in the foreground of shot. In these shots, it is apparent that the cars are positioned on a fake background and not actually driving. This is especially noticeable as they are shown driving on a bumpy road, but during these specific shots, the cars appear completely still, with no signs of vibrating or bumping up and down. (01:51:53)

Casual Person

Revealing mistake: When Sylvester is chasing Finch and Hawthorne and the two cars bump into each other, there is a shot of Finch and Hawthorne's car swerving off the road and then back onto the road. In the shot, it can be noticed that Sylvester has been replaced with a stunt driver. (01:51:57)

Continuity mistake: When Culpeper is about to get into his car before leaving the station, he looks back at the police station for a brief moment. In the first shot, his left hand is shown touching the right hand side of the window frame. But in the next shot, where the cop says "What's the matter, Chief", his left hand is now shown the bottom of the window frame. Then it is back to being alongside the window frame in the next shot. (01:55:52)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: Whilst Ding and Benjy are trying to land the plane, the man in the control tower falls over the edge of the tower and is shown tangled up in a microphone wire, hanging below the tower. In the first wide shot, the microphone he was using is shown dangling below him. Then in the following shot much closer to him, the microphone is suddenly in his hand. (01:58:10)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: When Ding and Benjy are on the verge of landing, just as Ding says "Put on the brakes" and Benjy asks "Where are they", Ding is shown putting his right hand on a couple of levers. When the shot cuts, his right hand is suddenly pointing towards a restaurant. (01:58:56)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: When Ding and Benjy are landing the plane, in the shot of Ding saying "Benjy, here comes a restaurant", the view outside the plane is slanted, revealing that the plane is at a tilted angle. When the plane is shown crashing into the restaurant in the next shot, it is perfectly level with the ground. (01:58:57)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: When Ding and Benjy are in the taxicab on their way to the park, just after they see the Crumps in the taxicab in front, they tell the driver to pass the cab in front and that they want to get there in a hurry. At this moment, Ding is shown sitting inside the car. But in the next shot, when the two cabs are shown from outside, Ding's arm is suddenly hanging outside the window. (02:01:58)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: Just as Culpeper is about to turn around the road leading up to the park, Meyer appears and drives up the same road. When Meyer begins driving up the road, Culpeper's black car can be seen at the bottom of the road. A shot focusing on Meyer driving up the road is then shown, but Culpeper's car cannot be seen in the background shown outside the back window. (02:04:00)

Casual Person

Visible crew/equipment: Whilst Culpeper is walking across the park, a couple of seconds before Meyer is shown hiding behind the bushes, the camera passes in front of a tree and the shadow of the cameraman can be seen cast on the tree trunk when it passes. (02:07:50)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: When Culpeper and Emmeline approach the others whilst they are digging up the money, Finch is shown saying "Faster, faster, dig, dig" whilst holding onto a shovel. His left hand is shown holding onto the socket section of the shovel at first, but when the camera cuts to a closer angle of him, his left hand is now shown holding the blade of the shovel. (02:13:32)

Continuity mistake: Just after the briefcase with the money has been dug up, whilst Benjy is saying "Everybody's gonna get something, so no arguments cause we all get an equal share", Meyer is shown holding onto the briefcase with both hands on each side. It then cuts to a closer shot of Meyer, where his left hand is now shown touching the money. (02:16:10)

Casual Person

J. Algernon Hawthorne: Jolly nasty accident there. Jolly lucky nobody was hurt.
Mrs. Marcus: Where did you get that funny accent? Are you from Harvard or something?
J. Algernon Hawthorne: Harvard? Rather not. I'm English.
Mrs. Marcus: Sounds so foreign.
J. Algernon Hawthorne: Really?
