The Haunting (1999)
1 plot hole
Directed by: Jan de Bont
Starring: Liam Neeson, Owen Wilson, Bruce Dern, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Lili Taylor, Virginia Madsen
Continuity mistake: While they're all having their first dinner at Hill House, everyone has a little red wine. The wine levels in Lili Taylor's glass go up and down between different shots. (00:24:35)
Theo: You know what, the rest of you may hate your insomnia but I'm not sure I want a cure for mine. That's when I get all my best ideas... I'm alone, occasionally... with no distractions. My mind is racing with creative ideas and come 3am I feel like a genius.
Trivia: Ridiculously huge Jesus reference at the end. When Eleanor is blasted onto the door, her arms and legs are in the same position Jesus would've had. She is lowered down by the hands, much like Jesus would've. She also dies to save everyone else, a slightly smaller point is that you see the children 'die' and going into heaven. The bible says 'only those who are like a child are to go to heaven.'

Answer: Another possibility is the spirits of the children. As long as Hugh Crain was inside the house, the children were trapped inside too. They could have called Nell because they needed her help in being set free.
