Factual error: When Mrs. Lincoln is greeting the guests at the party, she says, "The White House and the other house." The presidential mansion was not called the White House until Teddy Roosevelt gave it that name in 1901.
Suggested correction: Teddy Roosevelt only made the nickname "The White House" the official name in 1901. The nickname was used in the 1800s.
Revealing mistake: When Stevens leaves the house about halfway through and sits on a bench there is a modern electrical outlet on the wall to his left.

Trivia: Daniel Day-Lewis won the Academy Award for Best Actor for this film, becoming the first (and thus far, only) actor to win the award three times. This was also the first Steven Spielberg-directed film to win an Academy Award in an acting category.
Question: In all the articles I have read, Booth shot Lincoln then jumped out of the box into the audience below, spraining his ankle. He managed to escape because the audience thought it was part of the act. In the movie the show is interrupted by the Manager coming onto the stage to announce that Lincoln had just been shot - no disruption during the show until then. Is this a goof or not?
Answer: Lincoln was shot at Ford's theater while attending the play Our American Cousin. The interruption by the manager to announce that Lincoln had been shot was during a different play that Tad Lincoln was watching at the time in a completely different theater.
