Other mistake: In the scene where Jamie is in the closet, looking at a photo of her mother (Jamie Lee Curtis). The photo looks exactly like the scene where Laurie is sitting waiting for Annie on the ledge in the original Halloween, which wasn't photographed at the time, it's clearly a still from the movie.

9.1/10. Possibly one of the best sequels of the franchise. The atmosphere matches the original in being chilling as it seems like Myers has a ghostly presence on Haddonfield. If anything he can be there in spirit enough to frighten people. Danielle Harris plays Jamie Lloyd well here. She really seems to be the embodiment of frightened child being chased by the Boogeyman.
Best film of the franchise.
Jack Sayer: You're huntin' it, ain't ya? Yeah, you're huntin' it, all right. Just like me.
Dr. Loomis: What are you hunting, Mr. Sayer?
Jack Sayer: Apocalypse, End of the World, Armageddon. It's always got a face and a name. I've been huntin' the bastard for 30 years, give or take. Come close a time or two. Too damn close! You can't kill damnation, Mister. It don't die like a man dies.
Dr. Loomis: I know that, Mr. Sayer.
Trivia: Due to an impending writer's strike, the script was completed in only 11 days by writer Alan B. McElroy. McElroy cracked the story, and managed to complete a final draft in this short period of time, reportedly turning it in only a few hours before the strike began.
Question: Why does Michael want to kill his niece?
Answer: It's tricky to say, as the films have contradictory explanations, and there are different "timelines/universes" in the series. But in the context of this film, Michael is for some reason compelled to kill his family for reasons unknown. Presumably he's just finishing the job he started by killing his sister Judith decades earlier. (They try to give a more concrete explanation in the movie "The Curse of Michael Myers," but it's... flimsy at best. And is contradicted by the following film).
Answer: Because he's a psychopath. And purely and simply evil.
