Halloween

Continuity mistake: When Laurie gets into Annie's car, she throws her coat in the back. During that shot when both of the girls are visible, the rear view mirror on the windshield between the two of them is level. When it cuts to only Annie and Laurie in the subsequent shots, the rear view mirror is crooked, tilting to one side.

Continuity mistake: When the girls are walking home from school, Annie says that she is babysitting Lindsey Wallace and Laurie says she is babysitting Tommy Doyle. Laurie also claims that the Wallace's and the Doyle's house are 3 doors down, but when Annie drops Laurie off the houses are right across the street from each other.

Continuity mistake: Annie's underwear changes patterns from a beige color to a floral pattern when she's stuck in the window.

Continuity mistake: When Laurie is in the bottom of the closet hiding from Michael, you can see that a purple dress is in front of the rest of the clothes. However when she stands up to grab a hanger, a pink sweater is in front only to be behind the purple dress again when she sits back down.

Continuity mistake: When Annie takes Lindsey round to watch TV with Tommy, they leave the TV in their house on. But when Annie comes back looking for her car keys, the TV is off.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Tommy Doyle looks out the window and sees the shape outside of the house across the street, the porch light is off and the jack o lantern is not lit. When he attempts to show Laurie, the next shot of the house shows that the porch light is on and the jack o lantern is lit.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Laurie comes downstairs after taking a shower, she is at her front door singing to herself and she is looking out a window directly to the left of the door. Then there is a shot of the front of her house outside and you see her exit through the door that had the window next to it, but there is no longer a window there.

Continuity mistake: When Michael stabs Laurie in her arm the wound doesn't bleed at all, and there's no blood on the knife either. Then when she kneels down to talk to the kids, and in every scene after that, there's a streak of blood.

Continuity mistake: When Michael is at Tommy's school, there are cars parked across the street. When he gets in the car to leave, they are gone.

Continuity mistake: Laurie's hair keeps changing throughout the movie. Her hair changes from wavy to straight while she babysits the kids. It is wavy again when she is going to Lindsey's house, and straight again when she is running back to Tommy's house. It stays straight until Michael starts to strangle her, where it becomes wavy again, having been straight in the previous shot. It all ends with straight hair. Surely all of this could not happen in a matter of hours.

Continuity mistake: After Tommy breaks the pumpkin, he is now walking on the sidewalk without the books that he was holding before.

Continuity mistake: Michael breaks the passenger front door window on the wagon when he takes car, a short time later when he's driving in town the window is not broken.

Continuity mistake: Before Tommy breaks the pumpkin at the school in the background there are 2 kids, one with a hat holding something in his hands which disappears in the next shot.

Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the film when Michael is walking through the house, the clocks have different times on them. After he walks by the clock in the living room, it says 9:40. Seconds later, it strikes ten times.

Suggested correction: This scene jumps ahead as Michael was in the living room waiting for them to finish having sex and the boyfriend to leave.

Continuity mistake: When Laurie, Annie and Lynda are walking home from school, the part where Lynda walks to her house you can see the station wagon on the side of the road behind them. A few seconds later it has moved up the side of the street.

Suggested correction: This is intentional. Many times, even driving, Michel can be seen lurking in the background and following them around in this car. This is mean to create a subliminal element of suspense and unnerving restlessness with him always creeping about.

Quantom X

Continuity mistake: The scene of Dr Loomis talking to Michael in his room, scene from the TV cut, shows him sitting in a chair his arms down at his sides. A shot of Loomis then back to Michael show his hands on his knees. Another shot of Loomis then Michael shows his left hand still on his knee but now his right arm's down at his side.

Rob245

Continuity mistake: During the beginning of the movie, when Laurie is talking to the police officer, the sun is shining bright as if it is a perfect day, then when Laurie walks to her house, the trees look as if it has just quit raining.

Question: Where did all of the kids' parents go that required babysitters for the entire night? Seems like a small town such as Haddonfield would not have many options.

Answer: There are only two families that hire babysitters in the film, the Doyle and Wallace families. Where they went is never explained, but it could be potentially anywhere. They could have gone on a trip out of town for the night, they don't have to be in Haddonfield.

Where did it state this was all night? It could have been a few hours. Remember that in the next one, it is still the same night and stays night through the entire movie.

Answer: Annual Halloween party as evidenced in the following instalment. Dr Mixtner was drunk and was at a party. The Strodes were also at a party, the same one if I recall correctly as the doctor.

Also we only SEE two families have babysitters. Other families could have had babysitters. We just don't see this. (I'm not sure if this adds anything additionally to the question asked, tho).

And why did Laurie's parents not come to the hospital? Did they not know she was there, even after the news release about the attack?
