Factual error: It's a 1957 Ford Thunderbird in the scene when they are supposed to be stealing the 1956 Ford Thunderbird (Susan). (01:05:18 - 01:05:43)
Factual error: In the shot showing everyone getting out of the van, one person is seen opening the rear door from the inside and rolling out. This van is a Chevy Venture, the name clearly shows as the door is closing. These types of vans do not have a handle inside the rear door, making it impossible to open from the inside. (01:21:24)
Factual error: When Memphis is driving the GT500 through the irrigation ditch, he was approaching the motor's redline in 4th gear, he then hit the nitrous. In that case nitrous will not increase top speed. The only way to increase the top speed of a car is to 1. Get new gears in the transmission or rear end. 2. Get a motor with a higher redline. Nitrous won't do either. (01:32:20)
Factual error: When, the LAPD "Air One" helicopter contacts Long Beach Tower for permission to proceed over the airfield in pursuit of Eleanor, he is denied clearance. I am a pilot myself. Whether or not they were the LAPD, they had already violated Class "C" airspace in their pursuit. Any inbound aircraft, fixed wing or rotor, must contact approach within a three to five mile radius of the airfield. This chopper is less than half a mile from the active runway when it asks for clearance. Even if it was a national security issue, only the Secret Service could override ATC. (01:38:00)
Factual error: Right at the end, Memphis escapes by jumping via a flatbed towtruck. The ramp is put down on those to tow away a vehicle so it should be backed right up to a vehicle to lift it on. That begs the question of why the ramp was down with no vehicles anywhere near it. The maximum distance that any driver would want to maneuver with the ramp down would be a couple of feet straight back.
Answer: He sits on his hand until it goes numb, and then masturbates. "Stranger" refers to the fact that it feels like someone else is doing the work for you.
