Question: Why did Professor X have a shot at Logan in the lab after Jean took off? He said something like 'I warned you'. As far as I can see, all Logan did wrong was brush Jean's cheek - and Xavier never told him not to.
Question: I collected comics for years and read every Mutant title related to the X-men that there was. As I understood Kitty Pryde's power was to phase through objects, her molecules as well as anything she touched/carried would pass through and around the molecules of the object. The molecules of the object weren't displaced or shifted out of time or anything like that. If she therefore left anything/anybody in an object their molecules would now be grafted into the object for lack of a better way of saying it. So a person/Juggernaut left from say stomach down in a floor would be killed by such a massive shock to the system. Have things changed that I've missed or did no-one catch this at all?
Answer: In the comics, yes, Juggernaut would probably have been in a world of hurt at that point, from the intermingling of the molecules, although given his invulnerability, the precise result cannot really be determined. However, the filmmakers aren't under any actual obligation to follow the comic rules. In their version, Juggernaut survived the experience unscathed; whether this is because of his abilities or differences in hers from the comic version is open to debate.
Question: When Beast is in the mansion and says hello to Storm and Xavier, why does Professor X say "Henry you are always welcome here." I thought his name was Hank?
Answer: Hank is a nickname for Henry, like Jack is for John.
Question: I've heard that X-Men: The Official Game explains the absence of Nightcrawler in the movie. Since I don't have the game, I was wondering what happened.
Answer: In the game, Nightcrawler accompanies the X-men on a series of missions. Completing that, he tells Xavier the life of an X-man is that of violence, while he is a man of peace, and leaves.
Question: In the movie, when Mystic is being hit by "the cure", it was shown that she was naked. But when she shape-shift to be another person, the clothes were part of her disguise (as shown when she change into the president / small girl in the hold up cell). That being the case, does that mean that even when she is another person, she is in reality naked? If she is naked how could she withstand the cold? Just curious to know.
Answer: Yes, all clothes she wore as a mutant were part of her (or they wouldn't have changed with her) and she appears to have an inherent resistence to cold. For instance, in the first movie, Senator Kelly's breath is visible when Magneto tests the device on him and she seems to be unafected by the cold in her blue form. And if it ever got too cold for her, remember that a polar bear doesn't wear clothes either. Even if though the clothes are part of her, they can still have thermal properties.
Question: What is the juggernaut's actual power (in the film, not the comics)? It says he can't be stopped if he has built up momentum, but that would be based on mass and velocity, neither of which seemed to change when he approached Leech, yet he was knocked out by the wall.
Answer: Yeah, well, that's it - he's unstoppable once he gets underway. The mechanics behind this aren't clear, but it's clearly based on more than just his mass and velocity. It seems likely that it's a combination of something resembling super-strength (but tied directly into his movement) and something to protect him from the effects of the impact. Within range of Leech, both of these are disrupted, so he neither penetrates the wall nor is protected from the impact, and thus is rendered unconscious.
Question: What's the quote that Beast tries to say when he and Logan are fighting versus the mutants in Alcatraz? (The Churchill one)
Answer: The full quote is taken from a book written by the US author Winston Churchill (not to be confused with the British politician of the same name) called 'Richard Carvel'. The full quote, spoken by a character in the book, is "I fear there are times coming, my lad, when every man must choose his side, and stand arrayed in his own colours".
Question: What was it that Beast said in the jet when they looked upon Alcatraz in the air? He noticed the bridge, and the mutants facing off with the soldiers. Everybody in the theater was laughing, but it wasn't audible enough for me.
Answer: He says "Oh, my stars and garters" - it's one of Beast's stock phrases from the comics.
Question: Why does Storm believe that Jean (who in the comics is her best friend) is gone and will never come back and try to forget her?
Chosen answer: Why wouldn't Storm believe Jean is gone? She saw her (Jean) crushed by a giant wave and consumed by a giant lake. She has no reason to think that Jean will "come back, " and she tries to move on after her best friend's death, as you or anyone else would.
Question: I'd like to know what happens to Pyro in the final battle. He is knocked pretty good on the head by Iceman, so does he get obliterated by Phoenix? Also, once Professor X has transferred himself into the body of the other man, why does his voice still sound the same?
Answer: Pyro's fate is unclear in the film, although the novel (which differs in places from the film and therefore may not be canonical) states that Iceman dragged him clear of the battle site after defeating him. As for the voice sounding the same, it's suggested that, should there be a fourth film, the comatose patient will turn out to be Xavier's twin brother (a departure from the comics, where Xavier has a twin sister), thus allowing Patrick Stewart to return to the series if he wishes to.
Question: What happened to Nightcrawler? Why isn't he in this film?
Answer: Short answer, the actor, Alan Cumming didn't want to reprise his role as the process of transforming him into Kurt/Nightcrawler was long and tedious, uncomfortable and unpleasant. His role would have been a minor one, and then with Bryan Singer not returning as director, it made it easy for Cummings not to do it. In a later video game, Nightcrawler is a playable character, which Cummings voiced, and he says he didn't want to be an X-Men anymore, because of the violent nature of their lives, and he left to live in Germany.
Question: The awkward delivery Kitty makes when she says "Who's hiding... d**khead?!" to Juggernaut always struck me as really strange. Is it just poor delivery of a generic insult? Or is she trying to make a (bad) one-liner about the fact his helmet is maybe, kinda-sorta vaguely shaped like a man's glans? The weird pause and emphasis on the word "d**k" in "d**khead" made me think it was the latter, but I'm not sure.
Answer: She was scared, going into battle for the first time and going up against a very powerful mutant. It was the best one-liner she could think of at that moment. She purposely said it to agitate him, to put him in such a blinding rage, he wouldn't notice his powers were gone because of "LEECH."
Question: After Mystique's "cured" and talks to the Feds what do they do with her?
Question: When Kitty and Bobby were walking down to the fountain where are her shoes? She wouldn't wear skates obviously but I couldn't see her shoes on the bench when they were skating. I also knew she couldn't be wearing skates on her way down cause we see her putting them on her feet when she was sitting on the bench.
Answer: Bobby is carrying them (visible as they're walking to where they skate). Remember, he doesn't need skates because he makes ice blades on his shoes, so the pair he's carrying are for her.
Are you saying he's carrying her skates or shoes?
He's carrying her skates. Her shoes are never seen. You never actually see the entire bench so her shoes could be underneath. You also never see her feet before she puts the skates on so it isn't clear she ever actually wore shoes down to the fountain anyway. People walk around without shoes all the time.
Answer: Logan was upset with Charles for using mind control on Jean. When Jean escapes, Charles tells Logan this because now she is going to wreak havoc, proving the mind control was a necessary step after all.
