The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Continuity mistake: When the four Pevensie children are standing on the Coombe Halt platform, waiting, Susan is holding her brown suitcase in one shot, then in the next shot it's on the floor, and she picks it up once again. (00:06:50)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: When Edmund is sitting in the White Witch's sleigh he is eating the cakes. He switches from eating with his left hand to his right and then back to his left, dependent on the angle of the camera. (00:31:10)

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe mistake picture

Continuity mistake: As Lucy, Peter, Susan and the Beavers trek through the snow towards Aslan, their shadows repeatedly change in consecutive shots, such as going from long shadows to their right, to hardly any, to long again.

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: During and before the battle between Aslan's and Jadis' armies, the red chin strap on Peter's helmet changes position a few times. (01:43:35)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: After Edmund falls through the wardrobe, into Narnia, his hair changes from bushy, brushed back and messy, to suddenly flat and combed between shots. (00:27:25)

Revealing mistake: When the stone tablet breaks, Lucy and Susan fall down. But if you watch the ground, it never actually moves to make them fall.

Revealing mistake: When Lucy first meets Mr Tumnus, she looks down at his legs and sees that they are not the legs of a human, but of a fawn. During this shot, Tumnus shifts his legs slightly, and it is evident that the CG legs do not exert any pressure on the snow at all. This mistake occurs at several other points in the film. (00:15:20)

Continuity mistake: When Lucy discovers the covered wardrobe during hide and seek, the way the cloth is draped over the wardrobe, and its folds, differ in the overhead close-up, just before she opens it.

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: After Susan and Lucy say they don't have fun anymore, they splash each other in the water, before being surprised by Maugrim, and a few moments later, Peter runs into the water to rescue them. The water stains on their clothing noticeably differ between shots.

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: After Edmund rejoins his siblings, he has a blood-clotted cut on his lip. During the scene where the White Witch comes and meets with Aslan, the cut changes from big, to almost-healed, then back to big.

Continuity mistake: After Lucy gives Mr. Tumnus one of his packages he dropped, he puts it under his arm. The package is rectangular, yet in the next shot we see a long tube shaped package is under his arm as well. (00:14:50)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: When Lucy first enters Narnia and meets Mr. Tumnus, she hides behind the lamp. When she comes out from behind it she has snow up the front of her dress to her waist. In the next shot she only has snow at the hem of her dress. (00:14:50)

Continuity mistake: When Edmund gets hit by the white witch, he gets hit on the right side of his face, but in following scenes the mark is on the left.

Grace22

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Aslan dies, after the White Witch leaves, Aslan has 4 teeth, (2 sharp and 2 flat,) but in the next shot, Aslan only has 2 teeth (2 sharp.) Nobody helping the White Witch ever pulls Aslan's teeth out.

Continuity mistake: When Lucy pulls the cloth off the wardrobe, a corner of it lands on her head with heavier side on her right so that for it to completely fall, it would have to fall either behind or or on her right. However, when the shot changes, it shows the cloth falling in front of her, not even coming in contact. (00:11:55)

Continuity mistake: When Edmund first enters the castle of Jadis and he is crossing the courtyard, the statue of Oreius is visible in the background, which should not appear until the end of the movie. (00:50:15)

Suggested correction: That wasn't Oreius. That was a different Centaur. When Jadis turns foes into stone during the final battle, they don't teleport to her castle, as confirmed later when we see multiple statues in the battle field. The cut to the stone centaur in the castle courtyard is simply a transition (albeit a very misleading one).

Continuity mistake: The unicorn that Peter is riding in the big battle scene has a horn, then doesn't, then does.

Continuity mistake: When Lucy gives Edmund the drop of potion that will cure his injuries, the cut on his lip does not heal. The potion should work on all his injuries, not just his stab wound. (02:04:00 - 02:04:49)

Trivia: Before filming the Narnia scenes, Georgie Henley was never shown the set. To get a genuine reaction of surprise, director Andrew Adamson had Henley brought onto the Narnia set blindfolded. Her reactions to Mr. Tumnus are real, too. Before filming their scenes together, she had never seen James McAvoy in costume.

Question: A friend of mine noticed that despite it being winter in Narnia for a hundred years, no one's breath is visible. Is this a mistake, a director's choice (since it could've been added in post) or an element of Narnia (I am not very familiar with the books)?

Answer: It was never mentioned in the book or the movie that breath wasn't visible, so it is a mistake.
