Continuity mistake: In the abandoned railway station scene, when the heads on stakes appear, you can see in the first shot, Winston is wearing his hardhat after that there is a split-second shot and it disappears. In the very next shot it reappears. (00:59:51)
Revealing mistake: When they gather around to watch what happens when you put the slime in the toaster, you can see when the toaster starts popping that it has little pneumatic pistons attached to the bottom, making it jump. When the toaster gets picked up off the table you can view its power cord which is entirely too big - more likely air lines. (00:41:15)
Continuity mistake: Near the end, the Ghostbusters make the Statue of Liberty smash the window on the roof of the art museum before abseiling in. The window gets completely destroyed, but just after Vigo says 'Now we become one' we see the window again and it appears less damaged than before. (01:35:50)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the Ghostbusters arrive at the museum, and Egon tells Peter what he's found about Vigo, while speaking to each other Peter gets a bag and hangs it around his neck. In the shot where you only see Peter's back you can easily see the strap hanging straight down. But in the shot where Peter's face is visible, he's holding up the strap with his hand quite high. Cutting back to Peter's back the strap is hanging straight down again. (00:50:20)
Continuity mistake: When the judge tells the men to stand up, the position of the books in front of them on the table changes position between shots. (00:31:40)
Continuity mistake: When Dana and Oscar are at Venkman's place right after the scene where the bathtub attacks them, there is a slight mistake. Dana is shown from her left side, and she is holding Oscar. Oscar turns his head towards the camera, and almost immediately the view changes, and Dana is shown from her right side. Only thing wrong is that Oscar is still looking at the camera without ever turning his head. (00:46:15)
Visible crew/equipment: When they're yelling at the pink slime, one of them places a toaster next to the slime. A big lighting screen gets reflected on the metal structure. (00:40:40)
Continuity mistake: While Dana is cleaning her baby for the bath, the bottle and sponge next to him move around between shots, the tissue popping out appears/disappears randomly, as does a towel on the corner. (00:45:20)
Revealing mistake: When the Statue of Liberty is about to smash the museum's glass dome, the shot outside is really bizarre: The Statue is standing on a park, with a pink cloud covering what is supposed to be the museum. Yet the lower part of the cloud plus the people around it, show that there is no building nor any foundations there: Just a superimposed pink cloud over an empty field. (01:31:35)
Continuity mistake: In the museum, when Dana is trapped and the Ghostbusters lay on the floor, right before Vigo grabs the baby, Vigo's hair is fluffy and messed up. A shot later it's straight and neatly brushed. (01:34:40)
Continuity mistake: During the dancing toaster scene, the pool balls' position differ depending on if the wide or close angle focuses. (00:41:25)
Continuity mistake: When the Judge states his sentence, from Stantz's POV of the front of the table the pink goo in the jar starts bubbling with a tag hanging on its right side. From a wider angle of the front of the table not only is the tag not visible, but the ghost trap next to it is different (check the number of dials and looks of the box), plus the trap is now slightly skewed as to how it was positioned before. Suggested correction: I believe the tag is visible at all times, at least the string of it (the tag itself in the wider angle from the defence's table is hidden by the jar itself). Not sure about the mentioned box, you mean the ghost trap? My impression is that the different angle accounts for a perceived different placement, but it's just my perception.
Revealing mistake: When the [superimposed] pink slime and the bending tub try to attack Dana and Oscar, watch the tiles on the wall in front and you'll notice that they're not being reflected, just an empty space.
Continuity mistake: When the movie ends, Ray and Egon walk down the museum steps hugging each other. When the angle changes they are way apart from each other. (01:39:45)
Continuity mistake: There's a scene where Spengler talking to Ray about Iran running Vigo The Carpathian through the Occult Reference Net. We first see the computer screen from the side, with Spengler and Ray looking at it, and in the next screen we see the screen head on. The layout of text on the screen, the books piled to the right and the shadow on the wall to the left are all different between scenes. The close-up of the screen is obviously a different set-up, close but not right.
Continuity mistake: After they trap the Scoleri Brothers, Spengler lifts his foot from the trap mechanism. In the immediate angle his foot is still on it, and he is lifting it again.
Revealing mistake: When Lady Liberty walks down the street, the four Ghostbusters inside its crown are replaced with very obvious dolls. (01:30:05)
Continuity mistake: The first shot of Lady liberty walking down the streets and looking down at people is an obvious human face in disguise and makeup. In the close-up shot, it is a mask/miniature that doesn't look like the previous one, but does resemble the real Lady Liberty. This is not due to the statue being animated by ghosts, for the mistake takes place between one shot and another (besides, the statue is animated all the time), but because the FX was achieved combining a human in disguise and a miniature set.
