Revealing mistake: At the beginning of the movie, when the guy is bitten in the wrist, if you watch and listen closely when he shoots himself, the blood comes out of his head before he actually shoots.

A continuation from Day Of The Dead, the story focuses on one main group of humans who survived, and lived inside a zombie-proofed city.
While the rich cower in skyscrapers pretending their lives were never disrupted, and the poor eke out their existence in the streets, it is this very classification which will lead some men to turn their backs on the city, just when zombies are evolving and are seeking their new purpose.

More mistakes in Land of the Dead
Kaufman: In a world where the dead are returning to life, the word "trouble" loses much of its meaning.
Trivia: Tom Savini plays the "machete zombie." This is a callback to the original Dawn of the Dead (1978) where he played the living version of that character- a motorcycle riding hillbilly. He also did special makeup effects on Dawn and Day of the Dead (1985).
Question: At the end, when Riley meets the 'freedom fighters', why aren't they bothered by the zombies who are still walking around, or the defences being completely useless, as the zombies tore the defences down or went through the river?

Answer: Riley feels that they have just the right to be there as the living do. Besides, those zombies survived all the missles and are coming to the city while Riley and the gang are leaving. So why waste the ammunition?
