For Your Eyes Only

Continuity mistake: When the two black cars leave Gonzales' estate to pursue Bond and Melina, look at the first car and you can see the driver is not the same one who appears later on in the chase.

Revealing mistake: When Bond pushes Kriegler through a window, we can see in the shot of Kriegler falling that he is just a dummy.

Character mistake: When discussing where to look for the St. Georges, and Melina tells that her father saw a diving bell, Bond reasons: "Diving bell - oil exploration - Christatos" But diving bells are not used for oil exploration.

Revealing mistake: In the sleigh scene in Cortina, the closeups are recorded in a studio. The view of the background fits very poorly with the surroundings in the intermittent wide shots, which shows buildings close by, while the background just before showed a wide valley view.

Character mistake: In the ice-hockey scene Bibi says: "They say that he is a defector from East Germany." That fits very poorly with the statement during the biathlon scene, where he is referred to as "The East German Champion".

Suggested correction: Bibi doesn't say "He's a defector from East Germany", she says "They say he's going to defect from East Germany." In other words, she's talking about rumours regarding an event that hasn't happened yet, and may not even happen.

Character mistake: As Bond offers Ms. Brink to help her if she helps them, she answers "Ja, mein Herr Bond" meaning, "Yes, Mister Bond." It should simply be "Ja, Herr Bond." The way she says it would roughly translate to "Yes, my Lord Bond."

Doc

Continuity mistake: Bond fixes the end of his rope with a spring-loaded camming device (which is unsuitable for lose, porous rock by the way). When Apostis tries to dislodge him, the end loop of the rope is fixed to a piton - it has to be, because SLCDs literally cannot be knocked out of the rock.

Revealing mistake: As Bond prepares to drop Blofeld into the smoke stack, you can see that the cervical collar isn't put on correctly, the actor can still move his head. The intention of a cervical collar is to take all strain off the spine and neck muscles and prevent any movement that could cause damage to the spinal cord. To work, a stiff neck must be fixed so the neck is completely immobilized and slightly extended. However, wearing a cervical collar is very uncomfortable to the wearer, so they probably used a slightly lower one and didn't fully tighten it.

Revealing mistake: When "Mac" is told by the captain of St. George's to destruct the ATAC system, an explosion occurs and he gets thrown to the ground. When this happens, you can see that the man playing Mac is his stunt double.

Character mistake: When Bond contacts the Chief of Staff after identifying Locque on the Identigraph, Bond reads his bibliography to him. The first appearance of the word bibliography is misspelled "BIBLOGRAPHY", whereas the second appearance near the bottom of the screen is spelled correctly.

Continuity mistake: When Bond jumps over the two henchmen shooting at him during the ski chase, he causes one of the henchmen to fall over. As he falls over, his motorbike does too, but the bike is back upright again immediately when Kriegler skis over them.

Continuity mistake: When the three ice-hockey players are warming up on the ice rink, you can see there is a puck next to the goal, but when the players start charging towards Bond, the puck has disappeared.

Revealing mistake: When Locque kills Countess Lisl by running her over in his dune buggy, look in the cockpit and you can see that the driver is not Michael Gothard but his stunt double.

Continuity mistake: In the scene when Bond shoots Locque's car window and the car is hanging over the edge of the cliff, Locque puts his hand on the door when the car starts to fall, but in the next shot when Bond kicks the car over the cliff, his hand is no longer on the door.

Continuity mistake: As Locque speeds away from the burning warehouse, Bond shoots two bullet holes in his rear window which disappear and reappear in subsequent shots.

Audio problem: When Bond shoots Locque on the shoulder, he yells but does not open his mouth.

Revealing mistake: When Bond enters Q branch, he is met by a technician with a false broken right arm. After saying "Coming along very nicely sir" the arm then swings to the technicians' right breaking the head of the dummy. This then reveals the arm of the technician, who then holds his hands suggesting the false arm is a 'Spy Gadget'. You can see that the revealed hand is not that of the actor but of someone stood behind the set wall. The actor has used his real arm to carry out the effect, and then clasped the hand of the extra person. This is supported by the fact the arm movement can be seen through the shirt, the skin complexion of the hand is completely different to the actor, the arm looks like he is being hugged, when he puts his hands together it is not natural, and as they move away he moves his right shoulder up and the 'third' arm remains in place.

Continuity mistake: After the motorcyclist crashes through the flower shop window, he lays 10 meters into the shop, with the seller standing behind him holding a bouquet. A frame later, when Bond shows up by the window shop, the bouquet is inches away from him. She must have had a 10 meters long arm to make this possible.

Suggested correction: Firstly, the small shop is not 10 metres (more than 30 feet) in depth; it looks to be barely over 3 metres (about 10 feet) from what little we see of it. Secondly, there is no inconsistency in the way the shop owner hands Bond the bouquet: after she looks down at the dead cyclist, a few shots later she is standing nearer to the window where Bond is, so she must've stepped closer.

James Bond: Forgive me father, for I have sinned.
Q: That's putting it mildly, 007.

Question: Is this the only Bond film that features any references to Tracy Bond (other than the given "On Her Majesty's...")?

Answer: It's mentioned he was married in The Spy Who Loved Me and Licence to Kill.

Grumpy Scot

Answer: It is also vaguely alluded to in The World is Not Enough. When Electra asks Bond, "tell me, Mr. Bond, ha- have you ever lost a loved one." And it's written all over his face, so to speak.
