Extreme Measures

Hugh Grant is an ER doctor, treats a homeless man. The patient dies, but not before giving Hugh a dose of weird symptoms and unreal bloodwork and the name "Triphase." The evil doctor (we find out later is Gene Hackman) has a flunky break into Hugh's apartment and plant some cocaine. Hugh gets arrested, never to practice medicine again. He gets ahold of patient data for the homeless guy and his buddy, tracks the buddy down in the homeless underground. Hugh get shot by the flunky, goes to Gene Hackman's daughter for help -- Jodie, I think; Sarah Jessica Parker, anyway. Er, this is where the Ending starts.

Continuity mistake: At the end as Grant and Guilfoyle starts walking down the stairs, a dark haired woman in light clothes starts hurrying up the stairs just before the change of shot. It then changes to a close-up shot off Grant and Guilfoyle, and they have barely moved a step, but the dark haired woman has reached the top of the stairs in an instant.
