Revealing mistake: Lou received Georgia's rather incriminating phone call. Only his bedside lamp is lit, supposedly, but when he opens the drawer of the nightstand the lamp is on, it casts a light on the wall above, revealing the presence of more sources of lights in the room. (00:07:00)
The Cheap Detective (1978)
1 revealing mistake
Directed by: Robert Moore
Starring: Peter Falk, Ann-Margret, Eileen Brennan, Sid Caesar
Other mistake: As the police lift the body of the 'dead' hotel clerk from behind the desk, you can see his eyes look around a bit.
Suggested correction: I looked closely into it, but I was unable to verify this mistake. Looks to me even in slow motion that his eyes do not wander at all.
Lou Peckinpaugh: What you you doing here?
Betty DeBoop: I missed my boat.
Lou Peckinpaugh: It doesn't sail until tomorrow.
Betty DeBoop: So I missed it a little early.
Trivia: Though Phil Silvers is shown prominently in the credits, he has only about 2-3 seconds of screen time at the end of the movie. Silvers suffered a stroke in the early 70's; "The Cheap Detective" was made in 1978. His speech had become slurred and likely affected his performance abilities.
