Corrected entry: On Pete's first day of school, all the fishermen are complaining that there are no fish and it is his fault. Pete says "Elliot will bring them back" and one responds that he is talking dragon again. But none of them knew that the dragon was named Elliot, so how did they know who he meant?

Correction: As I recall there is a whole song and scene where Mickey Rooney and the whole of the town folk sing and taunt Mickey Rooney about the "dragon" in the bar before the school scene. Hence the, "He's talking dragons again," comment. Additionally, when Pete walks into town Elliot causes havoc which he blames on the dragon, which also takes place before the school scene.

Corrected entry: In the opening scene, when Pete and his dragon arrive into town, the dragon causes mayhem, and the man carrying the stack of egg crates falls into the mayor and breaks eggs over him. The mayor acts annoyed, grabs the stack of crates half way up, to throw them away, showing that they were all attached together, for the effect to work as a leaning tower. (00:19:10)

Correction: Common misunderstanding by modern people who do not know that old wooden egg trays actually do attach together by sliding down a small rail. Not a mistake but a reality.

Corrected entry: During the opening song where the Gogans are chasing Pete, they are in a forested area with lots of mud and different gradients, evergreens and no evidence of apple trees. Pete hides in a split log and wakes up in the same place, but he steps out into a orchard/meadow with lots of space between trees, different tree species and completely dry.

Correction: He doesn't wake up in the same place. Elliot moved him and the log some time during the night. Notice how when Pete wakes up, he looks around and doesn't recognize the area.

Corrected entry: When Nora, her father, and Pete are cleaning the lighthouse and signing that "Brazzle-Dazzle" song. After they rip up their rags, watch their clothes. They head down the lighthouse and once they come out of the bottom door, they're wearing totally different clothes.

Correction: That wasn't a mistake. It was intended to show that time passed and they cleaned themselves up after cleaning the lighthouse.

Revealing mistake: Near the end of the film, the mayor, played by Jim Backus, is speaking to Elliot the dragon, who is invisible. The mayor has a cigar in his mouth and smashes it when he turns to greet Elliot. The scene is accomplished by having Backus turn and smash the cigar into a large pane of glass. However, the reflections on the glass are visible.

Question: How is Elliott spelt, as I've seen it both Elliot and Elliott on various different Disney memorabilia?

Answer: In the original film, the credits show his name as "Elliott" (with 2 t's). In the remake, his name is "Elliot" (with 1 t). So older memorabilia will have "Elliott". In the original film, Elliott was the dragon's given name, in a manner of speaking. In the remake, Pete names the dragon after the puppy from his favorite book which was called "Elliot Gets Lost". This is the only reason I can find for the spelling change.
