Factual error: As Kennith Williams and Bernard Bresslaw approach a notice board on horseback, you can blatently see the road they are on. You can even see the white hazard lines on the road. Apart from anything else, Tarmac wasn't even invented until 1901 yet this episode is set in 1750. (00:12:30)

From the front Sid wears a white shirt, brown waistcoat and matching top-coat. From the back however, Sid has lost his top coat and is in his waistcoat and shirt sleeves. As the scene cuts between the two shots, Sid's coat disappears and reappears.

Continuity mistake: When Kenneth Williams & Jack Douglas are at the 'The Old Cock Inn', the candle on their table gets bigger and smaller throughout the scene. At one point it has nearly burnt completely down, yet when Jack Douglas comes out of the toilet for the second time, it has grown back to at least six inches.
Continuity mistake: When Bill Maynard is introducing Madame Desiree and her Birds of Paradise at the Old Cock Inn, he is holding a tankard in his right hand. The tankard disappears in the next shot, and in the shot after that, it is back again.
Continuity mistake: During the service at the church towards the end of the film, Sid James takes the collection bag and after he says "Hymn 202, O God Our Help" he walks off with the bag in his right hand, but when he enters the vestry in the next shot, the bag is now in his left hand.

Continuity mistake: When the organist plays "O God Our Help" for the first time at the church service towards the end of the film, the Rev Flasher takes Tom from the organ and head off towards the vestry. At this point, Flasher enters the vestry first with Tom behind him, but when we cut to the inside of the vestry in the next shot, Tom is now entering first followed by Flasher.
Continuity mistake: When the Rev Flasher announces during the collection the congregation will sing Hymn 202 for a third time, we see Sergeant Jock Strapp, Captain Desmond Fancey and Sir Roger Daley at the back of the church. After a quick cut to Flasher, two men approach Fancey and Daley for their collection, but Strapp is nowhere to be seen.
Continuity mistake: When Captain Desmond Fancey and Sergeant Jock Strapp are at the inn, they are sitting on a bench next to the stairs. When the Rev Flasher is walking up the stairs, Fancey is all by himself and Strapp is missing.
Continuity mistake: When Sir Roger Daley is cursing Captain Desmond Fancey after the Rev Flasher escapes from the church, there are members of the congregation leaving behind Fancey, but in a close-up of him, they disappear.
