Revealing mistake: Whilst Rei and Yukiko are talking about Mima's photoshoot, there is a mirror shown next to them, as well as many objects shown on a counter beside the mirror. In the shot where Yukiko says Mima can't wait to strip in front of the photographer, the objects shown on the counter don't align with the reflection in the mirror. A box of tissues can be seen in the mirror reflection, but no box of tissues can be seen on the counter. There is a makeup box and a blue bottle with a white top shown on the counter that are both reflected in the mirror, but the box of tissues reflected in the mirror cannot be seen on the counter. Continuity mistake: Whilst Mima is shopping after cutting herself on a broken cup, the logo on the bag she is holding has a full stop in between each letter, spelling the logo as "F.G.G", but when she finds the bag in her wardrobe later on, the logo now has no full stops in between the letters, with the logo now being spelled as "FGG." Continuity mistake: When the other two CHAM members, Rei and Yukiko, are talking about Mima's photoshoot, whilst Rei says the photographer is known for getting people to strip, there is a dark purple box shown on the counter beside them. It then cuts to a closer shot of Yukiko and the box is now pink. (00:44:27)
Revealing mistake: Whilst Mima is crying in her apartment after filming the rape scene, she throws her duvet cover across the room. When the duvet lands on the ground, the part of the duvet positioned in the bottom right corner of the bed can be seen unnaturally sticking upwards and not lying against the bed or the floor like the rest of the duvet. Continuity mistake: When Mima returns home after filming the rape scene, there is a small table shown in the room. On top of the table is a plant pot and nothing else. When the shot cuts, a mug has suddenly appeared on the table. (00:36:05)
Continuity mistake: When the three men are taking about psycho-thrillers in the video store, one of them pulls out a VHS on the shelf. In the first shot, his hand is shown near towards the top of the spine, but in the next shot, his hand is suddenly nearer to the middle of it. (00:24:55)
Other mistake: When Mima awakens after supposedly getting hit by a truck, there is a calendar shown on the wall towards the edge of the bed. On the bottom row, there is no 28 shown on the calendar and the number 29 has been listed on the calendar twice, side by side. (00:52:36)
Revealing mistake: When Mima sees the train passing by outside the window, a white shirt can be seen hanging onto a wardrobe door in the reflection of the window. We are then shown a shot in front of Mima walking away from the window and the shirt hanging onto the wardrobe is now black. (01:09:42)
Continuity mistake: In the shot just before Mima peeks behind the curtain to see the train tracks right beside her apartment, on her bed there is a pink heart-shaped pillow and a purple heart-shaped pillow placed on top of it. Later in the scene, when Rumi (or the other Mima) starts attacking her just before she falls onto the bed, the two pillows are now in two separate positions. (01:09:35 - 01:11:13)
Other mistake: After Mima sees the CHAM poster has been stuck back to the wall, there is a wide shot of her room. In the shot, there is a calendar on the wall to the left of frame, but the numbers are wrong. After the number 10, the calendar skips straight to 14, missing out 11, 12 and 13. Continuity mistake: When the stalker has Mima pinned against the floor of the set, in a wide shot, his right hand can be seen holding onto her lower arm. It then cuts to a shot much closer to them where his right hand is now holding onto her hand. (01:04:14)
Revealing mistake: When Mima is first shown being attacked by the stalker, in the shot where the stalker says "Like anyone can hear you right now", we can see that the two of them are drawn without faces. (01:04:13)
Suggested correction: This isn't an error, just a common stylistic choice in a lot of animated films.
Revealing mistake: Just after Mima is questioned by the reporters about the murders of the screenwriter and the photographer, the scene cuts to an overview shot of a set inside a studio. In the shot, many of the people on the set are drawn without faces. (00:59:13)
Continuity mistake: When Mima is having tea with Rumi in her apartment, in the shot Rumi tells Mima she was at the apartment yesterday, Mima is shown holding her cup with all of her fingers, but in the next shot, she is only holding the cup with two fingers. (00:54:40)
Other mistake: The calendar next to Mima's bed has the number seven displayed at the top, indicating that it is the seventh month of the year, which is July. But there are thirty days shown on the calendar page, when there are 31 days in July. (00:52:36)
Continuity mistake: Whilst Mima is filming a scene at the harbour with another actress, in the first shot, Mima and the other actress are standing back-to-back. But in the next shot, the two are suddenly standing side by side. (00:49:29)
Continuity mistake: When the elevator door opens on the fifth floor after the screenwriter gets his eyes gouged out, we can see that the light for the number 5 on the control panel beside the elevator is no longer lit when the door opens. But in the next shot, the number 5 is suddenly lit again. (00:42:15)
Other mistake: In the shot where the elevator door opens after the screenwriter hears the music playing, the control panel (for the basement) shows the building goes up to eleven floors. When the elevator opens on Floor 5, we can see the control panel on this floor only goes up to ten floors, despite being in the same building. (00:41:55)
Revealing mistake: When the screenwriter hears the music playing, there is a wide shot of the parking lot he is in. In the shot, many of the number plates on the cars do not have any numbers or letters drawn onto them. There is a white car beside the elevator that has a very faint M and the start of another letter beside it, but is incomplete. And the number plates on the cars facing opposite the screenwriter do not have any numbers or letters at all. (00:41:47)
Continuity mistake: When the screenwriter is in the parking lot waiting for the elevator to arrive, he presses a button and a number on the control panel lights up depending on which floor the elevator is currently on. It then cuts to a wide shot of the parking lot, where none of the numbers on the control panel are lit up. (00:41:45)
