Continuity mistake: When HRH are in the Great Hall, there is a toast caddy on the table in front of Harry. Certain pieces of toast disappear and reappear or rearrange themselves, depending on the camera angle, from the start of this scene when Harry dribbles on himself, through Ron's reaction to his dress robes.
Continuity mistake: After the Yule Ball, when Neville walks into the dormitory, his shoes hang round his neck by their laces. While he says, "You alright Harry?" in Neville's first close-up his black collar lies flat, the shoes' laces hang round his white shirt and the heels touch. In the second shot his black collar is flipped up around his neck, the shoes' laces hang round the black collar and heels are about four inches apart. Then, in the third shot it reverts back, as in the first shot.
Continuity mistake: Seamus is sitting by Ron when Beaxbatons Academy and Durmstang are being introduced in the Great Hall. Then, when Mad-Eye Moody comes in and Hermione is telling them who he is, Seamus is suddenly sitting by her, across the table from Ron. Ginny also moves - she's initially by Hermione, then when Seamus suddenly takes her place, she's now sitting further down the table.
Continuity mistake: At the end, the wound on Harry's left cheek changes from a series of small scratches when he says good-bye to Dumbledore to a deeper more singular wound when he says good-bye to Ron and Hermione.
Continuity mistake: When Fred or George passes the note to Ron in the Great Hall, encouraging him get a date before all the good ones are gone, the position and style of writing on the note changes between shots. The number of lines changes from four to three and the words are written lower on the paper when Ron reads it.

Continuity mistake: When Dumbledore reveals the Triwizard Champions, in some shots one of the Weasley twins sits beside Harry and Seamus near the wall, along with Hermione, Ron, and Neville. In other following shots, both Fred and George are sitting together on the opposite side of the table.
Continuity mistake: There is a scene where Harry is holding the letter from Sirius and we can hear Sirius's voice reading the letter. The words on the letter are different from the words we hear Sirius reading. Particularly the end where Sirius says, "P.S. The bird bites" the letter says, "By the way, the bird bites."
Continuity mistake: During the second task, just as Krum and Hermione pop up from underwater and Krum's sharkhead disappears, in this specific shot Fleur (NOT another Beauxbaton student) stands on the platform in the background and her hair is fairly dry, blowing a bit in the wind. However, in a following close-up, Fleur's hair is soaked and stringy.
Continuity mistake: In the dining hall, when Hermione begins reading Rita Skeeter's article mentioning the Hungarian bon-bon, the newspaper and Hermione's fingers change position between the semi close-up and close-up.
Continuity mistake: In the DADA class, whenever there is a shot facing the class room, we can see that Ron and Harry are in the middle of the class room and Parvati and Padma are on the viewer's right side of the room (screen). Yet, when Moody makes the spider float from Padma onto Ron's face, in the shot facing Ron, the spider floats onto his face from the viewer's left side of the room (screen) whereas it should have been the right side of the room (screen).
Continuity mistake: At the Quidditch World Cup, when the kids reach the top, in the first shot facing them their positions are Cedric, Ron, Fred/George and Ginny. Just before the shot cuts, Ginny is just about to move behind a twin, and more to the point, three members of the Irish zoom by on their brooms between Ron and Cedric. In the next shot (from behind), as the Irish are still zooming by, now their positions are Fred/George, Ron and Ginny, with the Irish zooming by between Ron and Ginny. Between shots, Ginny has moved past three people and the zooming Irish on their brooms. Don't confuse the hat wearing twin for Ginny; her hat is green with a black buckle band and the twin's hat is green stripe. (Clearer on fullscreen DVD.)
Continuity mistake: After Harry overhears Snape and Karkaroff, when Snape confronts Harry and mentions the Gillyweed, the shelves behind the ladder in the store room are quite visible. Once Snape finds the bottle of Veritaserum things behind the ladder differ.
Continuity mistake: When Harry is attacked by a multitude of Grindylows he sustains numerous injuries, particularly the one on his jaw and neck. The position and characteristics of that wound repeatedly change in the following shots.
Continuity mistake: When Hagrid stabs Professor Flitwick in the hand with his fork, the fork changes places slightly between the wide shot of them and the close-up of Flitwick's hand, even though the fork hadn't been removed yet.
Continuity mistake: When Harry is on the Hogwarts Express, it is apparent that his scar is missing or very much out of place. Then during the second task, when Harry is swimming, the same thing happens.
Continuity mistake: When Ron glares at Harry in the Great Hall, he is angry with him for getting his name into the Goblet, but his face has dramatically changed from the previous shot (where he is in the background, behind Hermione).
Continuity mistake: When Hermione is walking over to wake up Ron she places a candle on the table. When it cuts the candle has moved closer to the edge of the table.
Continuity mistake: Right before the third task, Igor Karkaroff puts his hands on Krum's shoulders. In the next shot, however, his hands are off his shoulders and he is standing a respectable distance away. This change continues throughout the rest of the scene.
Chosen answer: Dumbledore did not know that Voldemort set a trap inside the maze. Unlike the book, there are no magical creatures or riddles to overcome inside the maze. What Dumbledore is referring to is a test of courage. The four champions must overcome their individual fears in order to successfully navigate the maze and win the tournament.
