Question: Why is there a scene where the fake detectives are trying to listen to Roy's conversation with his doc? They weren't really cops, the fake hospital room didn't need microphones, etc.

Answer: They needed to get the password for Roy's safety deposit box. They planted the camera and microphones so that they could listen in on the conversation and know what the password is.

Question: I didn't quite understand the ending. Was Angela fooling Roy the whole time, or did she decide to after she met him? Were Frank and Angela working together?

Answer: Angela was working with Frank the whole time, she wasn't actually his daughter. Roy's shrink (Dr. Klein) & Chuck Frechette (the money laundering guy) were in on the con as well.

If Chuck was also in on the con then why was Frank so beaten up? And why would they bring up the whole talk about the ashtray from the gift store and how the camera in there had seen Angela if Chuck was already supposed to know about it all?

Their whole plan was to get his vault password, how to get it? By making everything looks real. The death of Chuck -> Roy says he is the one who killed him -> His "daughter" is running because she is the main suspect -> Roy gives his password to the shrink so he can give it to his "daughter" That means Chuck, Frank, Angela, The fake police men, and the shrink are working together.

Question: How can Roy possibly be a smoker? He has OCD and is constantly cleaning the smallest of messes. The ashtray in his car was overflowing with butts.

ChiChi

Chosen answer: OCD isn't about cleanliness, it's about obsession and compulsion (hence the name). Cleaning could be a compulsion in this case, though smoking could be as well (and probably is, with the amount of butts in the ashtray). If that's the case then the cleaning probably wouldn't apply to the ashtray, since all he'd be doing is smoking and cleaning it, which would limit his actions even further. It's a bit more complicated than that, but that's the basics.

Question: Roy and Chuck Frechette are shooting the breeze about their teenagers, and Frank is a little floored. Right after Frechette says "Summer's The WORST" then Frank does a quick impression, with some kind of European accent maybe "It's Crazy...it's Wild..." and Roy says "He sounds just like him!" What are they talking about? Who is Frank doing an impression of?

Answer: Frank has just done his Christopher Walken impression, the same one Sam Rockwell can be heard doing in Iron Man 2 outtakes and has spoken about in interviews. Most likely just the actors having fun with some improvisation that Ridley Scott chose to leave in.

Question: Why does Nicholas Cage keep doing things 3 times? He opens the door, unlocks it, and a few other things three times.

Answer: His character has obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The primary trait of OCD is that you do things over and over, often for a set amount of times.

Xofer

Answer: 14.

SanDiegoDeputy

Answer: - 14 when she was pretending to be his daughter - Unknown later in the end when it's revealed that she is not his daughter, but over 18 because she said she is a grown woman.

Other mistake: As Roy meets his daughter, he gets out of his car and we see the car door left open as he runs towards her. Near the end of their conversation, the camera focuses on Roy, and through the space between his body and right arm, you can see the side view mirror indicating the door is now shut without anyone touching it.
