Continuity mistake: In the tunnels, Colin Farrell says "it's this way" and his earpiece is already in. As the angle changes, he's putting his earpiece in.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the plane proficience test, we see Hondo leaning over the counter when he says "Wow, is that a new course record?" when the camera angle changes he is now standing up straight.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the SWAT team encounters the Lear jet on the 6th Street bridge , the limo that the SWAT team commandeered has multiple bullet holes along the driver's side. The direction of all the firepower encountered by the limo was from directly in front (the 2 parked cars and the jet). I assume the sideshots came from the "airport security" blockade at the entry to the 6th Street bridge but were edited from the final film.
Continuity mistake: When Street tells his partner that he's staying with the team, his partner walks up to him and pushes him back into the mirror above the sink. You see Street taking a few steps away from the sink and standing straight up. The camera angle changes and you now see Street sitting on the edge of the sink.
Continuity mistake: When the team is shooting long distance poker Street can be seen lifting his head up twice after he loses as the camera angle changes.
Continuity mistake: When the team is at the restaurant celebrating, Street can be seen with a cup in his hand after he takes a drink and when the camera angle changes the cup is no longer in his hand.
Continuity mistake: When Street gets into the altercation with Boxer in the classroom, Wade's shirt is ripped open and you see the undershirt. When Sanchez comes in and the fight quells, Deacons' shirt is buttoned back up.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where TJ is taking off with Montel (Olivier Martinez) and Gamble handcuffs Street to the steering wheel, the passenger door is closed and Street (Colin Farrell) kicks out the window. When the rest of the squad arrives to assist, the door is wide open and the window intact.
Continuity mistake: When we see the guy checking the database for Alex Montel, he finds three different names and identities Montel uses. Each identity has a corresponding picture. The guy is searching under the name Claude Bezoul, and we see the picture on the screen that matched for Claude. But then on the printout, that picture is under the alias Alex Montel.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the French bad guys kill the man in the restaurant, a pretty girl disappears. The girl is having dinner with the murdered man, then she is sitting at the bar while the victim and the French bad guy talk privately. When the French bad guy cuts the victim's throat the girl is suddenly gone from the bar. All the other associates in the room are still there, but the girl has vanished.
Continuity mistake: When Montell is pulled over in his dead uncle's car, the camera cuts to the 2 motorcycle officers attempting to stop him, you see both motorcycles have their headlights on as well as emergency lights. When it goes back to Montell looking in the rear-view mirror at them, you see one of the motorcycles headlights is now off and the strobe patterns have changed as well.
Continuity mistake: When Gamble and TJ exit from the sewer, a member of the gang puts the lock on the gate between the bars on the door and the gate at an angle. When Street and Hondo arrive and try to shoot the lock off, it's on the latch holes and the lock is straight.
Continuity mistake: When Montel tells the journalists about his money offer to whoever gets him out, the journalists are filming him through a wire fence. However, when the footage is shown on TV, it is a clear shot of Montel's face and there is no sign of the fence between him and the cameras.
Continuity mistake: At the very end, as the S.W.A.T. truck pulls away and is driving through the desert after dropping off the prisoner, a call comes through the radio. Street puts his ear-piece on, the camera angle changes to Hondo who is right behind and replying to Street, and Street is again just beginning to put his ear-piece on.
Continuity mistake: When the S.W.A.T. team stops the escape attempt from the bus, the crime lord is seen getting out of the police car and walking towards the team. The camera angle changes and he is seen once again walking away from the car.
Chosen answer: Because he was offered a lot of money. $100 million is a lot of money to turn down for someone on a policeman's salary.
