Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd

Continuity mistake: In the scene when "There's shit everywhere" in the bathroom, it is taking place at night. But in the shots of Jessica's dad in the bathroom doorway, there is sunlight coming through the window across the hall.

Continuity mistake: When the teacher asks her "special needs class" if they have any ideas for a float, the camera switches between people and conversations and every single time this happens the Chinese exchange student changes position (resting on her elbow, arms out stretched, hands together etc...)

Continuity mistake: Louis has a black eye from Lloyd hitting him while in his pirate costume, as Lloyd finds out when he is wearing the "polar wear". Then, in the special needs class that same day, we see Louis without the black eye.

Continuity mistake: When Harry is drinking his Slushy fast, some drips on his neck and leaves a stain. Then, when Jessica comes, the stain is gone.

Other mistake: If Harry was born in 1969 and is 18 when he attends school (based on "8 years later" then "10 years later"), then the year should be 1987, not 1986 as the movie states. (00:01:25 - 00:01:52)

Suggested correction: This isn't necessarily true. The +8 and +10 years don't have to literally be to the day. Maybe Lloyd hasn't had his 18th birthday yet - it could be days away, making 1987 valid. Lloyd was born in 1969, but I don't think that was indicated for Harry. Harry was "held back 3 years", so may have been born in 1968 in order to be in the same grade as Lloyd, who was held back two years. Otherwise, Lloyd would be a sophomore and Harry a freshman, which questions how they're in classes with jrs/srs?

First off, the mistake isn't focused on anyone's age, just the date. Second, we know Harry was born in 1969 since the film starts with his, so your comments don't make sense. It says 1969 and the 8 years later followed by 10 more years later, which would put it at 1987.

Continuity mistake: The chip of Lloyd's tooth on Harry's forehead is bigger than the piece missing.

Continuity mistake: When Harry and Lloyd fall through the ceiling, they start to walk down the hall, away from the ceiling debris, for about 20 seconds, but when the camera angle changes to their backs, they're next to the debris again.

Bishop73

Continuity mistake: When Harry and Lloyd are in Big A goofing off, when Lloyd says "invisibility shield", the store clerk is seen moving and bending over a bit to put something down on the shelf, but in the next shot, he's back in the upright position.

Bishop73

Continuity mistake: When the special needs class is debating a float, look at the chalkboard in the background. The word 'float' is underlined, then the next time you see it, it isn't underlined. This occurs a number of times throughout the scene.

Other mistake: When Lloyd asks Harry about the geeky girl, the clip of the girl is in reverse, hair shows the effect. (00:08:55)

Continuity mistake: After Lloyd breaks the window with his message via a large brick, the glass on the left side of the window sill keeps shifting back and forth 90 degrees from shot to shot.

Revealing mistake: When Harry and Lloyd collide, Lloyd's tooth goes into Harry's forehead. When he pulls it out, he doesn't even bleed, and it leaves a little mark. Also, the little mark from the tooth is gone by the next scene.

Factual error: In the scene where the principal is in the car asking about the chest. They pass by a house with a 1990's Chevrolet Suburban.

Store Clerk: Enough! You're it! And no touch backs, no do overs, no erasies, and this whole store is home free!
Harry: Lloyd, can he do that?
Lloyd: Oh yeah Harry. He can. He did. And now...it's on like Donkey Kong. Pay the man.
Harry: Pay the man.

Question: I hear that Kyle Gass is supposed to be in this movie. Does someone know who he plays?

Answer: I can't find any credited source saying that Kyle Gass was in this movie.

T Poston

Answer: I didn't do a thorough or very extensive search, but of the numerous sites I did check, I found ONE reference indicating that he WAS in the movie: tvguide.com. However, what part he played was not specified. There is a photo apparently showing what was probably a cameo, and it looks like he is one of two men standing in an interior doorway (such as in the cafeteria?). During my search, it became obvious that Kyle has had a minor role in MANY movies.

KeyZOid

The TV guide site you're referencing is just wrong and I don't know why they added him. You'll notice he's the only one without a character name. And the picture they used isn't a still from the film. The "other man" in the picture is Jack Black. It should be noted that that the DVDs Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny; Dumber and Dumberer; and Run, Fat Boy, Run were sold as a 3-pack bundle in the US for a short time and maybe that's where someone thought Kyle Gass was in this film.

Bishop73

If you knew the tvguide.com site was "just wrong", why didn't you respond to the question a long time ago and state you know tvguide.com incorrectly lists him under "cast". Yada Yada yada? And offer a possible explanation as to why someone might have thought he was in the movie but you know he definitely wasn't? Or, didn't you know he wasn't in the movie? Have you at least contacted tvguide.com to inform the ed (s) that Gass wasn't in the movie but tvguide.com erroneously indicates he was?

KeyZOid

I didn't answer the question because I've never heard of the rumor he was supposed to be in it. But I know the TV guide site is wrong because of preponderance of evidence, basic understanding of how to credit a source on the internet as being reliable or accurate with given information, there's no character name listed, and they used a still from The Pick of Destiny movie. Maybe someone did it as a joke like when JB said KG graduated from Juilliard at age 13.

Bishop73

I did think of the possibility that it was a joke... I never even heard of him before.

KeyZOid

And what "proof" or objective information from a relevant, reliable source makes you so sure that you are right but tvguide.com is wrong?
