Trivia: "A Nightmare on Elm Street" star Heather Langenkamp has a cameo as one of the dead bodies you see on the TV news broadcast during the opening credits. (She's only on-screen for a few seconds).
Trivia: Wes Craven originally intended for "Shocker" to become a franchise, with Horace Pinker becoming the next big slasher-star. However, the studio wasn't happy with the film's mediocre box office returns, and a sequel was never made.
Trivia: Reportedly, late in post-production, the lead effects artist had a mental breakdown because he realised he had bitten off more than he could chew and couldn't deliver the effects on time. Director Wes Craven had to rush to locate all the negatives (which were scattered all over LA) and hire more effects artists to try and get the effects done as quickly as possible. Craven has said this is why some of the effects shots are "pretty sketchy" - there was no time to properly finish them.
