An English soldier gets captured in Northern Ireland by a group of terrorists, one of the terrorist becomes his friend, and learns that the english soldier has a girlfriend back in London. The terrorist escapes his former group after the soldier's death and flees to London, where he starts an relationship with the english soldier's former girlfriend while trying to run from his past. They fall in love and he decides to tell her about his past, but she also has something big to tell him.
Dil: I'm tired and emotional.
Trivia: When asked if he hoped to win an Oscar for his performance, Jaye Davidson said, 'Oh no, I hope I don't win. I'm not an actor, and if I win, it wouldn't be fair to the other people who are actors.'
