The Matrix Reloaded

Chosen answer: Obsolete programs are given the choice of deletion or exile. The Merovingian takes them in and, with his abilities to code the Matrix, allows them to stay under his protection.

Question: Chased by agents, Trinity chooses to jump out the window. With no reason to think she can be rescued, the fall will kill her. Why would she do that?

Answer: The script just says "With no choice left, Trinity dives through the window." I think she was pretty resigned to the fact she was going to die and just wanted to go out fighting as long as possible, with the very small possibility that she would survive the fall somehow.

Question: Whatever happened to the Twins that work for the Frenchman? They do not appear at all in "Revolutions," or at least not as major characters.

Answer: Well, they get defeated. They probably weren't killed, as they reverted to Ghost form (and were still alive when they did it, as they were screaming) which would repair any damage they sustained, but i can't imagine them being willing to go back to the French guy, if he's as powerful as he's made out to be. They're probably just in hiding somewhere.

Question: In the final trailer and on the UK DVD menu there is a shot of Neo putting his glasses on and it going to 'Matrix view'. Does anyone know why this shot was cut from the film,it's cool. The background looks like the 'Burly Brawl' location. Could it have been at the beginning of that? Any knowledge of this out there?

Answer: This was made just for the trailers. The same part (without the Matrix code) can be seen when Smith says "suprised to see me?" to which Neo replies "No." and puts on his sunglasses before the Burly Brawl.

Question: The architect mentions a "mother" of the Matrix. Who is she? When Neo asks if it's the Oracle, the Architect says "Please." Does he mean please how can you think that, or please don't interrupt, I'm speaking?

Answer: It's the Oracle. The Architect says "please" because Neo called her an oracle. To the Architect, she's just another program. He is scoffing at Neo for using that term, not for coming to that conclusion.

Phixius

Question: Can anyone list the film sequences shot especially for the 'Enter The Matrix' game and their significance to the overall plot? My computer can't handle it.

Answer: The fist important sequence is on the Logos. Niobe wants to go to this post office and get the last transmission if the Osiris. Well, they get the transmission and watch it. Next: Niobe is in a subway when she hears someone saying "72 hours" and Niobe says "what did you just say?" and then you see the person who said it - it's the trainman, and he says "that's exactly how long Zion lasted last time. Next: Niobe and Ghost have just gotten the key maker and he pulls out a key and says to give it to Neo, Ghost asks what it unlocks, the keymaker says "the future", then 2 Vampires come in and take the key and Niobe and Ghost go after them. Next: Niobe (or Ghost) goes to see the Oracle and she subtly says that she remembers Ghost (this is if you're playing as Ghost) and he once asked her "if she would ever love him" (The Oracle is talking about Trinity, not Niobe) and that the Oracle had said that she would love him only as a friend.

Question: Why are obsolete programs given the choice of deletion or exile? Why aren't they just instantly deleted?

Socks1000

Chosen answer: All programs are destined for deletion, however a quick witted program would realise their time is up and try and make an escape (exile). The programs aren't given a choice, the programs make a choice.

Question: What's the English translation of what the French guy says (in French) after commenting that French is a great language to swear in?

Answer: The French phrase is [edited due to not being 100% sure what to star out] Roughly, with some liberties to prepositions and word order: Name o' God, bastards f**ked your mother up the a** in some sh*tty whorehouse.

Answer: Dictionary.com lists "A Frankish ruling dynasty (c. A.D. 450-751) founded by Merovech (fl. fifth century) and brought to prominence by Clovis I." The Merovingian family believe they are direct descendents of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdeline.

Question: Has anyone got one of those mobile phones our heroes use? The R2 DVD extras say Samsung make them and they appear on the Samsung website, but I can't find any trace of them here in the UK?

Answer: It is the Samsung SPH-N270 phone.

Answer: The Matrix trilogy. John Wick focuses much more an gunplay vs hand-to-hand combat than The Matrix did, though both series featured both elements.

Question: Was Smith being "set free" also part of the architects plan? What were the other choices for the other "chosen ones"? How are the 23 chosen, and are they given the tools to build Zion? Do they wake up in a Zion? I don't get that.

Zema

Chosen answer: No. Return to the Source or return to the Matrix. The One chooses them and yes. They are woken by the One (like Neo was by Morpheus) and taken to Zion.

LorgSkyegon

Chosen answer: He said that because the Agent blocked his punch. It was something that the previous programs (agents) couldn't do.

Question: What does the Architect mean when he says, "There are levels of survival we are prepared to accept"? What other levels does he mean?

Socks1000

Chosen answer: The Machines have been sentient for a while, possibly a century or more, so a machine culture has started to emerge as evidenced by the existence of Sati; a program created with no purpose by two machines "in love". If the machines lost the humans then they would lose a significant amount of energy, meaning that a large number of machines and programs would need to be wiped out to ensure the machines survival, but it would be at a much lesser level, "stone age" by comparison.

Question: Neo knew the Oracle wanted to contact him because Bane and the other guy got that disk out of the Matrix. Well, how did that guy get a fake object from the Matrix into the real world? I know there is a corrected mistake for it, but the answer doesn't make sense.

Answer: The disk is not really a disk, just as nothing in the Matrix really exists. The people don't wear real clothes; they don't have real weapons; each of these items exists only virtually; they're created by the Matrix, and they look and feel and seem real, but they are not, they're computer code. Therefore, the 'disk' doesn't need to come out of the Matrix into the real world; only the computer code needs to be downloaded, just as always happens when people move from the Matrix back to the real world. There have been other examples of this; if you've seen the Animatrix short, The Final Flight of the Osiris, a large part of the story involves someone trying to drop off a 'tape' at a certain point, within the Matrix, to be picked up by another ship. Obviously, they won't pick up something physical; they'll download the information, which is represented in the Matrix by the tape.

Question: In the trailer, there is a theme playing at the last part that really interest me. Can anybody tell me the name of the theme?

Answer: "I'm Not Driving Anymore" (Instrumental) - Rob Dougan.

Answer: Well... there are many definitions. The Architect calls her the mother of the Matrix created by him to understand the mentality of human beings. As taken from the ending of this movie he explains that from the time of the first version of the Matrix there was always a percentage of people who would reject the matrix programming. Not understanding this the Architect created the Oracle to find out why. It was the Oracle who suggested that most of the people will accept the programming and that a small percentage must be left to escape, thus the creation of Zion and the cycle of destroying and renewal.

Question: During the fight on top of the truck, Morpheus loses his balance and grabs onto the agent's tie to keep from falling. Why didn't the agent simply allow himself to fall as well? Agent Smith stood in front of a train in the original Matrix in an attempt to kill Neo.

Answer: Because the Agent's main job at the time is to kill the Keymaker - if he's got to find another body (who then won't be on top of the truck) the Keymaker will have time to escape.

Jon Sandys

Answer: In order to keep people away from the set of the Matrix and keep spoilers from getting out, the movie was under the name "The Burly Man", which gave way to the Burly Brawl.

T Poston

Question: Why was only one Agent sent after all the Smiths when the woman saw them all in the burly brawl? Couldn't the Matrix itself have turned as many humans as it needed into Agents and outnumbered the rogue Smiths? Or did they interpret one Agent being beaten by a Smith as meaning they would never win against him?

diesel123

Chosen answer: The Matrix only became aware of Smith after the one woman saw the fight, the woman was converted into an Agent and Smith then infected them. Other people nearby would also have been converted into Agents, but this occurred off-camera, as did Smith then infecting these people, the large influx of Smiths that occurs towards the end of the fight are the people who turn into Agents who then get infected by Smith.

The Matrix Reloaded mistake picture

Visible crew/equipment: During the scene where Neo is talking to Agent Smith in the park area where Neo was talking to the Oracle, there is a close-up on Agent Smith's face. In his sunglasses you can see a bright white screen to reflect the light onto the faces of the actors. This isn't visible in any non-reflected angles. You can also see the cameraman on the other side. (00:51:15)
