Corrected entry: If it has been a year since Eric and Shelley's death, who the hell has been feeding the pedigree house cat, which would be incapable of hunting for itself, for the last year to keep it at its same size?
Correction: I have an indoor house cat who's never been allowed outside unsupervised or without a leash, and despite the fact she's pampered and doesn't have to fend for herself... she definitely still can. She catches (and eats) mice every time we get any in the house, is a keen hunter and is super cautious and territorial when she needs to be. She still has all of her survival instincts. So yes, house cats can definitely thrive and survive without their owner around. Especially in an apartment building like Eric's where she could easily get in and out.
Correction: The young girl, their friend kept coming back to feed the cat.
She specifically says "I thought you were dead" when she finds the cat, implying she hasn't seen it in quite some time. She also had to break into the building just to get inside. She definitely wasn't coming there to feed it.
Sorry meant the young girl.
Corrected entry: At the beginning of the movie when we see Shelly on the stretcher, the paramedic puts the air mask over her head, then right before Shelly is put into the ambulance we see the paramedic put the air mask over her head again.
Correction: Shelly takes the air mask off and tries to talk to Sarah. Therefore they have to put it back on.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Brandon Lee is sitting in front of a mirror in his old apartment, looking through photos and remnants of his past life, he applies makeup. However, you can see in the shot right after he punches the mirror that he already has on all of the makeup- black and white alike- before he applies it himself in the scene. (00:15:30)
Correction: Not so - he's just very pale, a consequence of both the dim lighting used in this scene and also the fact that he's just risen from the grave.
Corrected entry: The amount of make-up on Eric's face changes within each scene.
Correction: Eric's makeup changes deliberately, Lee slept in costume because he felt it made the makeup look more authentic.
Corrected entry: When Eric is about to kill Tin Tin, he says that "Halloween isn't until manana". That is Spanish for tomorrow. If devil's night is the night before Halloween, Halloween can't be the next day, because it isn't even devil's night yet.
Correction: It IS Devil's Night because Eric died on Devil's Night one year before, according to the subtitle in the opening. The night Tin Tin dies is Eric's first night back from the dead. Thus making it Devil's Night and making Tin Tin's "manana" statement true.
However, Top Dollar states in his meeting that it is Devils Night tonight, and they need a plan for what to do. Prior to this scene we see Darla making breakfast for Sarah after her encounter with Eric the night before. So Eric must have killed Tin-Tin on October 29th with Top Dollar and the news reports on TV then saying its Devils Night the following day (30th) which is correct. Tin-Tin should have said "Devils Night isn't until manana" either way there is a mistake somewhere.
Corrected entry: In the beginning of the movie when the gang fire bombs the arcade, when they leave the arcade they drive for a while at a high rate of speed and make some turns before they pass Sgt. Albrecht. But when the bomb goes off and Sgt. Albrecht starts to head toward it, the fire s visible in the shoot and only a few buildings away. Should have been much further.
Correction: The clue here is that they "make some turns". They drive around the block, past the arcade again, and then past the hot dog stand where Albrecht is. Most likely, they did this so they could see as much of the explosion as possible, while at the same time not be hanging around the crime scene too obviously.
Corrected entry: During the chase leading up to T-Bird's death, Skank is trying to catch up. While driving down an alley, you see T-Bird speed by from left to right. When Skank reaches the end of the alley, he is broad sided by the cop car chasing T-Bird from the right. They should have hit him from the left, on the drivers door, and almost certainly killed him at the speed they were going.
Correction: You most definitely see T-bird's car go right to left, not left to right.
Corrected entry: When Sarah is in the apartment looking for Eric, his shadow appears on the wall. He is standing with one knee cocked. It cuts to him (knee cocked) and then back to Sarah, only this time, he is standing straight and there was no time for him to move.
Correction: There is previous evidence that Eric can move faster than a normal human - when he's confronted by Albrecht, the cop turns to yell at the looters and turns back Eric who isn't there, nor is he anywhere around since Albrecht looks around quickly but doesn't find him. Given this it's quite possible for Eric to have changed poses instanteously.
Corrected entry: It's raining all the time throughout the movie and we know that Eric uses white powder as the white part of his crow make up, yet not once through out the movie does it wash off. That's pretty impressive, considering the fact that the white part of his make up is powder.
Correction: He does NOT use white powder. In fact, you have close-ups of him running his fingers in a jar of creamy make-up, then smearing it on his face.
Corrected entry: When Eric tackles Tin Tin in the alley, we see him connect with Tin Tin. The shot then changes and he's about 3 foot away from Tin Tin and connects again. (00:19:00)
Correction: It's the same action shown again from a different angle, not a continuity error. This technique is used frequently with big climactic explosions too - we're not meant to assume an object exploded more than once. We're just seeing it happen multiple times.
Not always - trouble is with things like this they have to be judged on a case by case basis. Some repeated actions are sloppy editing, some are a directorial decision, so not even a "deliberate" mistake, they're just showing the same thing a couple of times for impact.
Correction: Cats though domesticated are still wild animals. I know from experience that a cat can fend for himself when it is needed. Plus there are people who leave food out for stray animals.
