Ghost Ship
Ghost Ship mistake picture

Visible crew/equipment: When the tug leaves the harbour in search of the (ghost) ship you can see the waves of the ship from which the scene is being filmed. (00:10:30)

Visible crew/equipment: At the beginning right before Santos sees the Graza, the Arctic Warrior is traveling on the sea. Off to the left you can make out the shape of another ship. Now why would that ship not have shown up on radar when Santos had said that the radar blip he saw was "10 miles to the NE"? (NOTE: you might have to kick your tv's video settings up a few notches in order to see this mistake but it is there plain as day.). (00:14:30)

Visible crew/equipment: Julianna enters a large hall while exploring the ship by pushing two big glass doors open. Looking at Julianna coming in, you can see a movie-lightbar reflecting in the glass on the right. (00:30:45)

Visible crew/equipment: In the scene before the Arctic Explorer explodes, Greer picks up the radio, and to the left of him there is a orange pillar-thing. In it you can see a reflection of a crew member walking from left to right across the orange pillar. (00:45:05)

Factual error: The gold bars that the crew finds must be some new type of lightweight gold. There's no way that Julianna could stuff a gold bar in her back pocket and then pull it out and toss it on the table and Greer simply tosses it back and forth like it was plastic. A gold bar weighs around 27 pounds, you definitely wouldn't be tossing it around. (00:42:05 - 00:47:50)

Trivia: The studio and producer Joel Silver reportedly called for major re-writes of the script shortly before shooting began. Many of the actors had signed up based on the original script, titled "Chimera", which contained far less violence and supernatural elements, and instead was a psychological drama about what happens to a salvage crew when they are stranded in the middle of the ocean. Much of the cast wasn't informed that the script had been almost completely altered into a more generic supernatural-horror/slasher film until just before they showed up to begin filming, leaving many of them disheartened and disgruntled.

Question: Why does the demon kill the salvage crew before the boat is even fixed, and why couldn't he fix the boat himself if he already has the ability to move objects?

Answer: Not fixing the boat drew the salvage crew to the boat, where the demon could fill his soul-quota far away from any aid his victims may have sought.
