Continuity mistake: In the beginning when the singer is singing, her hands frequently change position between the shots. (00:01:00)
Deliberate mistake: When the passengers are cut by the wire while dancing, some of the clothing on the torsos defies gravity. A man's coat tails and pants fall but a woman's dress stays put when nothing would have held it from falling from her lower half in the same way. (00:04:00 - 00:05:10)
Revealing mistake: In the beginning of the movie where the line cuts the dancers in half, blood is visible on the dress of one of the dancers before the line cuts her. This is best viewed in slow motion on the DVD. (00:04:00)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the people are dancing and later killed by the line you can see the glass is still standing after it was cut. (00:04:25)
Deliberate mistake: If the captain is bending over the girl to protect her and the line is at about mouth height for him, the line couldn't have gone straight through his mouth. Instead, it would have run from the back of his lower jaw up and horizontally to his left eye. (00:05:00)
Continuity mistake: In the beginning, when the crew is dividing their money, the number of beer bottles on the table increases between the shots. At first, there are a few half full bottles. Suddenly, there are a few full bottles and a few empty bottles, with no time to have drunk them. (00:06:55)
Continuity mistake: When Jack ask Sean if he can talk to him alone for a minute, you see Jack lift his hand up pointing back with his thumb. Then he lowers his hand again. When it cuts you see Jack still holding his hand up. You also see Epps reaching in her pocket with her right hand, and when it cuts she is suddenly holding a cracker. (00:07:20)
Continuity mistake: When Jack says "I fly the arctic weather patrol" to Sean, you see Greer with a cigar in his mouth. When it cuts he is holding the cigar in his hand. (00:07:30)
Continuity mistake: When the demon meets the crew in a bar and asks them to find the lost ship he saw from the air, notice the beer bottles on the table; they keep changing from full to half full to full again, mainly the foam at the top. (00:07:55)
Visible crew/equipment: When the tug leaves the harbour in search of the (ghost) ship you can see the waves of the ship from which the scene is being filmed. (00:10:30)
Revealing mistake: How is it that in the middle of a storm on the Baltic Sea the Arctic Warrior experiences no waves or rough sea? When the crew finds the ship, the water is almost as calm as a lake. (00:11:30)
Continuity mistake: When Santos is calling for Murphy over the speaker after discovering something on the radar, you see Jack tipping his head backwards. When it cuts he has his head down. (00:12:20)
Visible crew/equipment: At the beginning right before Santos sees the Graza, the Arctic Warrior is traveling on the sea. Off to the left you can make out the shape of another ship. Now why would that ship not have shown up on radar when Santos had said that the radar blip he saw was "10 miles to the NE"? (NOTE: you might have to kick your tv's video settings up a few notches in order to see this mistake but it is there plain as day.). (00:14:30)
Factual error: There were absolutely no signs of ice or frost in any scenes while they were in the Bering Strait. (00:14:50)
Continuity mistake: When Munder goes through the floor, we get a shot from beneath seeing him dangling down the hole from his waist. But when it cuts, we see Epps reaching for Munder down the hole. The upper half of his body should be sticking up from the hole. (00:20:30)
Suggested correction: As Munder is pulled back up we get shown that there is a large space between the ceiling of the room he almost falls into and the rotten floor of the deck above it. The upper half of his torso would be in this space, hence not being visible.
Continuity mistake: When Munder goes through the floor we get a shot from beneath seeing him being pulled up. When it cuts he is pulled up again. (00:21:00)
Factual error: During the scenes where Santos is working on the main engines, he is actually working on a generator. A tug of that size would have a set of much larger engines with reduction gears (transmission), or be hooked up to large electical power plant to provide propulsion. (00:30:00)
Continuity mistake: When Santos is down fixing the machinery on the boat he is talking with himself, and when he says "What these people talking crazy for?" he is holding a some sort of equipment in his left hand. When it cuts he is suddenly holding it in his right hand. (00:30:05)
Continuity mistake: In the scene abord the Arctic Warrior, the engineer is in the engine room rebuilding the engine, and he gets oil squirted on his right cheek. A moment later, the oil has moved to his left lapel and shoulder. (00:30:15)
Visible crew/equipment: Julianna enters a large hall while exploring the ship by pushing two big glass doors open. Looking at Julianna coming in, you can see a movie-lightbar reflecting in the glass on the right. (00:30:45)
