The Client

Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie when the mob guys come to the boat house to move the body, Barry the Blade shoots a raccoon with his gun which has a silencer. But, later when Reggie shoots the neighbor's alarm system with Barry's gun, it does not sound like it has a silencer anymore.

Suggested correction: The silencer fell off the gun when "the blade" tackled the kid and Reggie. They show the silencer falling off the gun into the leaves.

Continuity mistake: In the very first scene the cigarette's distance out of the box varies from shot to shot.

Revealing mistake: When Brad Renfro is standing outside Reggie Love's house, hitch-hiking, he is laughing so hard he has to turn away from the camera, and even then he is still visibly shaking with laughter.

Factual error: When Mark and Reggie are fighting over whether or not to go to New Orleans, Mark starts walking toward the Memphis-Arkansas Bridge. There would be no need to cross that bridge as New Orleans is due south on Interstate 55. The Memphis-Arkansas Bridge is Interstate 40 and goes to Little Rock, AR or north to St. Louis.

Continuity mistake: When Mark is forced into Romey's car, the garden hose in the window keeps disappearing and reappearing depending on the shot.

Continuity mistake: Near the end of the film, in the diner, when Reggie Love is giving Reverend Roy the location of the senator's body. The camera switches back and forth between the two as they are talking. The ballcap Roy is wearing is backward, but in each scene, it is on a different place on his head. Low on forehead, high on forehead, and then back again. It's especially noticeable because of the amount of hair showing.

Continuity mistake: Near the end of the movie when Reggie and Mark are hugging for the last time, Reggie's hands change position between shots.

Continuity mistake: When the hitman threatens Mark in the elevator he pulls the alarm causing the red lights to come on, but when he turns the alarm off and gets out of the elevator the red lights are still on.

EMTurbo

Continuity mistake: When Reggie is talking about the first four Led Zepplin albums, in the front shots her left hand is at her side, but in the reverse shots it's on her hip.

Continuity mistake: When Reggie pulls the cassette recorder out of her bag and it then shows a close up, the position of her hand on the recorder changes between shots.

Mister Ed

Plot hole: When Reggie is interviewing Mark in the hospital, she tells him that she will pick him up tomorrow about 2:30 for a 3:00 meeting with the FBI. But the next day, Mark comes running into Reggie's office after the attack from the hitman the night before, and she asks him what's wrong as if she hasn't seen him yet. The FBI shows up just seconds later.

Revealing mistake: When Barry goes running after Reggie during the boathouse scene, he tackles her and loses his gun when he does. A suppressed Walther PPK. He drops the gun on the ground which causes the suppressor to fall off it. In reality, this wouldn't happen as the suppressor is threaded onto the barrel of the pistol. A simple drop onto soft ground (grass and leafs in this case) wouldn't cause it to fall off.

Matdan97

Continuity mistake: In the waiting room when Mark is first confronted by the mobster, his hair shifts from parted one way in far-off shots, to the other way in a close-up shot.

Continuity mistake: In the early part of the movie, when Johnny Sulari is talking to Barry "The Blade" in his office, in the picture windows behind them a large barge can be seen carrying cargo that is passing by on the waterway in the background. As the scene cuts back and forth between the two men, the barge appears, disappears, then reappears continually.

raywest

Revealing mistake: Romy is seen reinserting the white handkerchief into the car tailpipe a couple times without burning his hands. The pipe gets hotter as the car is running, and the cloth stays white the whole time, even though it's in a dirty exhaust pipe.

Factual error: When Mark pranks the detective by using his credit card to order 20 pizzas, he only reads out the card number on the phone. To order via credit card, you must say the expiry date as well.

Gavin Jackson

Mark: Thanks Rev. Roy, you've been a real pain in the ass.
Roy: Thank you, son. I can assure you, you have been an even larger pain in the ass.

Trivia: In the movie, Reggie comments on Mark's Led Zepplin t-shirt, saying they were a great band. Mark accuses her of being one of those adults who pretends to like cool bands to get close to little punks like him. This parallels an incident where Brad Renfro was reading for the role of Mark, and a suit in the production office saw his Megadeath t-shirt and claimed to like that band, too. Renfro said the same thing to the producer that Mark eventually says to Reggie in the film.

Question: When Reggie is negotiating with Reverend Roy and tells him that Marks mum wants a walk-in closet, Roy responds with "Walk-in. Is that hyphenated?" Although I gather that Roy was being sarcastic, I still have no idea what that comment means. Any help would be great.

Gavin Jackson

Chosen answer: Meaning is the word walk-in hyphenated.... walkin or walk-in.

Answer: I saw his question "Is walk-in hyphenated?" as a touch of humor.
