Revealing mistake: During the opening credits, a shot of Hepburn looking into Tiffany's window from inside the store has her taking a sip of coffee. The cup is tilted and the level of the coffee is also tilted, which suggests that the cup simply had a brown coffee-colored insert so that no liquid would be spilled. (00:01:41)

Visible crew/equipment: Just before Paul sits down on the box in front of Holly to show her the book commission that he had just earned, a microphone flashes into view on the right side of the screen. (01:07:30)

Continuity mistake: Near the end of the movie, when George Peppard is talking to Audrey Hepburn in the alley and it's raining heavily, his hair switches between being combed back and combed to the side. Very obvious - this takes place several times.

Continuity mistake: When Holly and Paul are at the library viewing Paul's book, Holly encourages Paul to autograph the library's copy of his book. Paul grabs a pen off the library's counter and begins to write in the book, then in the next shot Paul once again takes the pen from the library counter to write in his book.

Revealing mistake: In the taxi scene at the end of the movie, the steering wheel turns back and forth but the driver's hands are not moving.

Continuity mistake: When Holly gets out of the taxi into the pouring rain to run after Paul, she is soaking wet before her feet hit the sidewalk.

Continuity mistake: In the bedroom scene where "Fred", (Paul Varjak) is talking to Holly the wrist watch he is wearing disappears and then reappears.

Revealing mistake: In the opening titles, when Holly looks in the store window, in the background a policeman can be seeing holding up traffic for the filming.

Continuity mistake: In the scene at the apartment, Holly is tossing lettuce in a bowl. Behind her is the stove top, where a pot is resting on an unlit hob, and a yellow bowl is to the right of this. In the next cut, we see a flame burning under what appears to be a different pot and the yellow bowl has moved closer to the said pot.

Continuity mistake: At the end, while they are in a taxi, there's another taxi behind them, but when their taxi pulls over and stops, a black car goes by. But, again, in the rear, there is the same taxi. And, again, when the taxi stops, no taxi goes by.

Continuity mistake: When Holly falls asleep in Paul's arms, he puts the light out, but when she is having bad dreams, Paul shakes her awake and the light is on.

Paul Varjak: Holly, I'm in love with you.
Holly Golightly: So what?
Paul Varjak: So what? So plenty! I love you. You belong to me.
Holly Golightly: No. People don't belong to people.
Paul Varjak: Of course they do.
Holly Golightly: I'm not going to let anyone put me in a cage.
Paul Varjak: I don't want to put you in a cage. I want to love you.
Holly Golightly: It's the same thing.
Paul Varjak: No it's not. Holly...
Holly Golightly: I'm not Holly. I'm not Lula Mae, either. I don't know who I am! I'm like cat here, a couple of no-name slobs. We belong to nobody and nobody belongs to us. We don't even belong to each other.

Question: When Paul knocks on Holly's door and she isn't wearing anything, she says to him "would you turn around? Oh, never mind, it's such a silly line anyway - I'll turn around instead." What joke is she referring to?

Answer: Holly is referring to the fact that people often ask others in the room "Will you turn around?" when they are dressing or in the nude, so the person cannot see them naked. She is simply stating she thinks it is odd that the second person is always asked to turn around, when the person herself could turn around.
