Revealing mistake: In the scene near the end, when the two cops are fighting in the "out of control" bi-plane, the plane is seen looping and twisting as the "pilot" Tack has jumped out. However, in the side-on view of them fighting you can see a new pilot trying desperately to stay out of shot, but failing due to the g-forces he is under while the plane moves around. (01:16:00)
Revealing mistake: When Sweet Chuck is sitting on a bench in the gym reading a paper, the big heavy comes down and sits next to him. Sweet Chuck goes flying up in the air a second before the big guy sits down.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie, the two balloons are in the air. As one of them goes down to land, we see a shot with balloons on the ground. In the next shot, one of them is still up and flying.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie when Tackleberry glides down the balloon you can see that the color/shape of the balloon changes between the closeup and far off shots.
Continuity mistake: In the middle of the film when the guys are playing basketball, Hightower slams the ball in the ground making a huge crack in the pavement. But when Proctor enters the basketball yard the crack is much smaller.
Visible crew/equipment: In the skateboarding scene there is a close up shot of the guy with red pants on. As he skates off the screen you can see a shadow of what looks like the camera man following him. It can't be a shadow of another skateboarder, because they were all skating ahead of the guy in the red pants.
Continuity mistake: David Spade switches from regular foot to Goofy foot multiple times in the skateboarding scenes.
Revealing mistake: While fighting against a ninja on the ship, Nogata does a back flip and then a front flip. He is replaced by a caucasian stuntman with no Asian features.
Revealing mistake: When Tackleberry rides to the bank, watch the reflection on the window shops around and you'll see a line of bystanders watching the filming. They disappear in opposite angles.
Visible crew/equipment: When Tackleberry enters the bank lights and lighting equipment are reflected on his lenses.
Deliberate mistake: Proctor and Harris were surprised when they walked into the Blue Oyster and found out it wasn't a restaurant, but in Police Academy 2, Proctor apparently knew not only the bar, but the address as well.
Continuity mistake: When Zed and Sweetchuck are in the plane, Zed has his googles on, but a shot later from the opposite angle they're hanging loose behind his head.
Audio problem: After the ninja fight, Lassard knocks down a ninja hitting him with his baton, but no noise is heard, making it a really lame and fake hit.
Revealing mistake: When Mrs. Feldman drives the motorbike inside the store to save Tack, the male stuntman is very noticeable.
Continuity mistake: When Harris places the bullhorn filled with glue on his mouth, the angle shot from the side shows him lowering it and removing it from his mouth, but the front angle shows his hand straight and his mouth glued to the bullhorn.
Revealing mistake: When a guy rides his bike into the swimming pool, he is replaced by an obvious stuntman. Not only because he doesn't resemble the actor, but because of his very obvious wig.
Continuity mistake: In London, Hurst is either holding the fish bowl parallel or perpendicular to him depending on the shot.
Continuity mistake: In London, after Lassard tells a joke Nogata is either clapping or not depending on the shot.
Revealing mistake: During the ninja fight on the ship, Jones' punches miss by far.
Factual error: The Police Academy is in an unnamed American city. However, during the opening credits, Mahoney and Jones can be seen driving past a Hudson's Bay store, and the Sam The Record Man, in Toronto Canada.
