Chicken Run

Plot hole: When Ginger and Rocky escape from being made into a pie, it cuts to them back in the chicken coop. The movie is based on being unable to escape the coop, yet they can get back in no problem.

Suggested correction: We see how Rocky got in the barn, and it's not far from their chicken coop. You really think they would escape without the others and think nothing of it? Also, as stated above, we don't see exactly HOW they got back, so how exactly is this a plot hole?

Plot hole: Ginger can hold Mrs. Tweedy single winged. She can also tip up a feeder full of food. So now we have clarified that she is one ridiculously strong hen, how does she need help pushing up a deck chair? 3 other chickens were able to do it with ease earlier.

Plot hole: As Rocky slides down the machine, he falls into the shaft where spinning razors almost kill him. He avoids this fate only by grabbing onto a long metal bar and sliding down a great distance to the part of the machine where the dough for the pies is prepared. He immediately sees that Ginger has arrived there, however given that the long metal bar was not there before Rocky grabbed hold of it, it is inconceivable that Ginger could have made it to the dough section of the machine. It was a direct drop down the shaft towards the spinning razors and the opening leading to the dough was well out of the way.

Continuity mistake: When Mrs. Tweedy gets the idea of converting her farm when reading the brochure called "Sick and tired of making minuscule profits," a wedding picture of the husband and wife is seen on a cupboard at the back. Then, in the next shot, as Mrs. Tweedy slams her hand on her desk that same picture suddenly happens to be on the desk.

Fowler: I don't like the look of this one. His eyes are too close together.
Ginger: Fowler, please!
Fowler: And he's a Yank!
Rocky: Easy, pops, cockfighting's illegal where I come from.
Bunty: And where is that exactly?
Rocky: Oh, just a little place I call the land of the free, the home of the brave.
Mac: Scotland!
Rocky: No! America!
Chickens: Ooo...America!
Fowler: Poppycock! Pushy Americans, always showing up late for every war.

Question: Why didn't Rocky simply tell Ginger at the start that he couldn't fly, instead of dragging everyone through that whole charade. I realise that it was crucial to the plot, but was there any other reason?

Gavin Jackson

Chosen answer: Because he wanted them all to have something to look forward to, he didn't want to let them down. Plus Rocky is very bigheaded, it would no doubt be embarrassing for him to admit that he couldn't fly.

THGhost

Answer: The exchange was he would teach them to fly so he could hide out from the circus and he didn't have anything else to offer them.

Answer: Because Rocky is a coward.

He's a rooster on a farm full of female chickens. Think about it.
