T.K and Kari arrive and Davis' and the American kid's digimon golden armour digivolve and get swallowed. The evil digimon turns good and is destroyed. It returns to the American kid as an in-training digimon.Then while Willis (the American kid) is with one of the two digimon he has, he spots a digi-eggcontaining the digimon that turned bad due to the virus earlier.Kari (voice-over) explains that digimon don't die they just regenerate.Then Cocumon (the evil digimon) appeared and started humming and swaying to the tune Allstar by Smashmouth.Willis thinks Cocumon is tone deaf and then the digimon vanished into thin air

Answer: This happened in the TV show. We are never told as to how they got there but in the last episode Gennai asks them if they could return the streetcar to San Francisco for him. So my guess is that people like Gennai left the items there.
